Not content with swimming the English Channel in 2006, David Walliams is going to swim 12 miles, the length of the Strait of Gibraltar, for BBC's Sport Relief.

Champion rower James Cracknell will be swimming, cycling and rowing around 1400 miles from the UK to Africa, and David decided he'd join him for the swim. Twelve miles is not as far as he swam in 2006, but he thinks it will be just as challenging, he said,

"It's colder and also there's sharks in it and also the sea's a lot rougher, so I think it's going to be a very challenging swim."

Check out this weekend's pictures of David and his Mum – perhaps he was breaking the news to her that he was off to risk his life with another charitable swimming stunt!
