As predicted, about an hour ago Amy Winehouse showed up at a London police station and was arrested on "suspicion of assault" of a 38-year-old man in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Amy was surrounded by paparazzi on arrival at the station, and arrived in a people carrier with a minder. She was two hours late for her appointment, despite leaving her home at 2pm.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said:

"A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault after attending a central London police station by appointment, she is currently in custody."

Lets hope this gives Amy a push to get back on track. I'll update as and when we have more news.
