Americans take note: The BAFTA-winning comedy Gavin and Stacey starts on August 26 on BBC America! I've yet to decide if the show could be too British for America, but they loved The Office, so I'm hoping they adore G&S as much as we do in the UK – US mag Entertainment Weekly is already rather excited about it! As I've mentioned, NBC are making a US version of the series (they also make the successful The Office: An American Workplace), and James Corden, Ruth Jones and Mathew Horne appeared at the TV Critics Association Summer Press Tour to end the BBC's presentation.
The lovely James won over journalists that were there, if these blogs (1, 2) are anything to go by. Even if they did find the accents a little hard to understand, James kept them laughing, saying:
"This is so weird, sitting on a leather sofa and talking to people while they're all checking their emails. Someone there was checking their Facebook during [the BBC presentation of] "Britz"! But you all look like you smell amazing."
Ah James, come back soon. If you're wondering where Joanna Page (aka Stacey) is, she's still starring in the play Fat Pig until September. Also: my burgeoning crush on Mathew Horne has grown just by seeing that photo of him... yum!

i don't really think they will get it, I'm not saying they are stupid or anything at all it's just even though we speak the same language we have a different culture and the way people act in Britain... we find it funny coz i guess we all come into contact with people like that through our lives coz of where we live.... its hilarious for us but i don't know if the Americans will really find it as funny...
