Orlando Bloom is in Sarajevo at the moment, talking to officials about the recently announced filmic adaptation of Bill Carter's memoir Fools Rush In. The book is about Bill's experiences living and working as an aid worker in Sarajevo during the Balkans war siege. Orlando is co-producing and will star in the movie – although not as Bill Carter – Liam Neeson will also star and Javier Bardem is in talks for a supporting role. Orlando spoke to reporters in Sarajevo, saying:
"I read the script, and the very human story and the very core of this film spoke to me very clearly. This is a departure from the very big Hollywood productions."
Sounds like a great cast is coming together, and the film will be adapted from some fascinating material. Orlando and co hope to start shooting at the end of the year.

He looks so much better with short hair.
1I have met him and I would like to add: he is even more gorgeous in person.
2i think that it's a nice change for him to work on a project like this. we're so used to seeing orlando in a certain type of movie - that this could be a new direction for him to try.
3Mayfairgirl, funny you say that - I've met him too and I was completely unimpressed.
He's obviously not an ugly guy, but I wouldn't notice him in the street..
And I'm really curious to see that film. I must admit I don't think he's that good an actor, but this sounds like a different role he might be really good in.
4I don't really get the appeal. He's pretty enough to be a TV star, but he's not a movie star, IMHO.
