Jade Goody has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. The Big Brother star was told the devastating news while in the Big Boss house in India.
Jade was called to the Diary Room, where she spoke to her consultant in the UK by telephone. She ran out in hysterics and told her housemates "I have cancer". It was not aired at the time and will not be broadcast in India.
She was immediately withdrawn from the Big Brother style show and is on her way home for treatment.
Max Clifford today said:
"Jade had some tests recently, then she went off to India to appear in the Indian Big Brother.
"Yesterday we got a call from her consultant to say she had cancer of the cervix and so she has to come back straight away."
Our thoughts are with Jade and her family.

I just saw this on the headlines this morning. She isn't my favourite person, but she does seem to have a tough time with things.
1I read in some magazine recently that she was collapsing with stomach pains but they didn't think it was cancer ... so this is pretty bad news.
2Poor Jade! I hope she gets through this.
3Shocking news. It seems amazing that so much bad luck can happen to one person - a lot of good luck, too, but what a roller coaster.
4I don't think much of her, but it's always sad to hear that kind of news.
5Poor Jade.. I imagine her reaction wasn't great but to be so far away from your family must be hard.. It's a cancer with a better success rate than most but still very very scary...
6poor thing.
7cant stand her but i wouldnt wish her ill health. Hope she gets through it
8Too bad because cervical cancer is always sexually transmitted. They now have a vaccine for girls to get (starting as soon as age 11) up to age 25. It's so important for girls to get the vaccine because this virus is being spread like wild fire and is killing many women needlessly.
9Of course Gardasil is the best vaccine, but our government has gone for a cheaper option - it eradicates the cancer, but not every HPV virus, which means a lot more girls will still contract an STD that there is officially a cure for. It's worth looking into private acquisition of Gardasil.
10i feel so sorry for her, with a mum like hers seemed to be i'm surprised she's done as well as she has, i hope she gets healthy v soon
