With the end of Lost in Austen last week, I've been in a Pride and Prejudice mood and have been thinking back to the 1995 TV series version and 2005 film version. I like all three actors in the role of Darcy: Colin Firth in the BBC TV series, Matthew Mcfadyen in the film version with Keira Knightley, and Elliot Cowan in ITV's recent spin on the story. I want to know your preferences, so tell me: who is your favourite Darcy?

3Matthew Macfadyen was such a carbon copy of Colin Firth! His voice, his mannerisms. Firth by far!
4colin firth has always had a special place in my heart even outside of the darcy role, but i think that he really did capture it well.

EASY: Matthew!!! Firth was & is too old to be Darcy! Even when Darcy, the character was trying to be cold, he expressed his emotion in his eyes or his hands---Firth couldn't pull that off, only Matthew did that perfectly! Matthew can dissect any character and make him come to life!

The book has no scene of Darcy coming out of a pool/pond/or anything to do with water.
He is handsome,wonderful and above all he is believable.
Colin Firth, M FacFadyen made Darcy look like a bumbling idiot, and Eliot's Darcy was nothing more than a caricature of the 95 P&P version !
18MATTHEW MACFADYEN!! I enjoy the character of Fitzwilliam Darcy no matter who plays him, but Matthew was it for me. I also love Laurence Olivier's Darcy, too...

20Elliot was the best Darcy by miles !!! Apart from being a wonderful actor he has the most gorgeous eyes and smile !! Colin and Mathew were good but not a patch on Elliot.xx
