Twiggy and Alan Carr signed copies of their autobiographies yesterday, following hot on the heels of Christopher Biggins and Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel-Horwood last week. It's certainly the season for it, with Dawn French, Fern Britton and Girls Aloud releasing their books over the coming weeks. We've also seen offerings from Westlife and Abi Titmuss in recent months. I'd love to know what you think about these tell-all tomes, so tell me: do you read celebrity autobiographies?

Wanna know a secret? I once read Jordan's autobiography cover to cover in just under an hour and 45 min. in Waterstone's. Depressing, huh? And the worst part was - I enjoyed it. Also Twiggy was in my office last week and walked past my desk ... her hair was quite long and scraggly (!), but she seemed really nice and personable. That fringe really doesn't suit her.
1Haha, I read Jordan's autobiography too discuit and quite enjoyed it.
2The only other one I've read is Russel Brand's, which was funny. I'm not really into reading autobiographies normally though.
I worked in Waterstones for 3 Christmasses and just looking at that many celebrity biographies put me off for life.
I am ashamed to say however, that before that, I read Geri Haliwell's autobiography.
3Oh I take the above back now I have seen swwonder's comment. I really want to read Russell's book, because I love Russell.
4Phew, glad to know I'm not the only one! Thanks for sharing my shame, swwonder!
5I can join in the shame - I too have read Jordan's autobiography.. the first one.. had to hide the cover as I was reading it on the tube to work...!
Only other one I've read and really enjoyed was Scar Tissue: Anthony Kiedis.. not a huge fan of the RHCP but a friend recommended it and I loved it...
so, ummm. would read them but only if they were highly recommended by a friend.. or cost a quid from wollies and would make me laugh!
6Shame on you, tototee!
Haha loves it. I am in dire need of a trip
to Woollies to seek out these £1 celeb books. Oh I have a really funny story actually - one year I was flying to the States and my boyfriend bought me Colleen's book to read on the plane b/c
at the time I was a little obsessed with her - it was SO RIDICULOUS. It was basically a list of clothes and brands. Still loved it. I have Victoria Beckham's That Extra Half An Inch as well.
So enjoyable. It's a guilty pleasure.
7I read the Appletons' autobio a few years ago - must admit, I LOVED it!!
8I usually couldn't care less about celeb autobios, but I have to say I can't wait to read the Girls Aloud one. And now I want to read Colleen's, thanks Bigestive!
yup also read the jordan auto, and it is good, she's just a crazy person you can't not look...and i read victoria beckhams learning to fly a few years ago which is actually really good, full to the brim with juicy gossip and in some parts like the film Body Guard, actiony, sounds strange but true... guilty pleasure!
9I think I've read all the celeb autobiographies mentioned above. I absolutely love them, would rather read them than fiction - also like ones of old classic stars.
10heyy i was just wondering if any of you know of any celeb autobiographies that involve a sad time of their life that influenced the way they now think or thought for a while? Please let me know ASAP!!
11thanks
