Future Reads For the PopUK Book Club
I've been looking ahead to what we could read together in our
PopUK Book Club. Several film adaptations are coming up, so I've selected a range of such titles as possible future reads. Some have been published recently while some are classics, and different genres are represented, from the short story to children's fiction to chick lit. Be sure to let me know what you think!

Great suggestions, Pop!
I'd love either Benjamin Button (have read several Fitzgerald things but not that one) or Pippa Lee (I was planning to read it soon anyway)!!
Have already read Dorian Gray and Confessions of a Shopaholic a bunch of times, and I HATED the Lovely Bones.
1Yes great choices Pop!
I agree Advah - Benjamin Button would be good to read and I think Pippa Lee sounds interesting - quite a few concerning aging aren't there
I've got Lovely Bones which I really want to read but haven't yet felt in a suitable frame of mind!
Should definitely read Dorian Gray and I'd like the Bee one and Shopaholic as light relief please
I'm getting the hang of the smileys I think...
2Thanks Advah! It's great to get your feedback.
I find it's fun to reread certain books too, so if we do read some that you've already read it'd be great to get your thoughts on them from that perspective.
Looking forward to reading some of these titles with you soon!
3Thanks for your feedback supersocks! I'm glad you're interested in so many of the suggested titles.
If any of you have suggestions for any other possible future reads do let me know!
Will be great to chat about them with you!
4Hmm I can only think of books that have already been adapted into films, and not new films.
I'll keep looking.
5Awesome, thanks Advah!
If there are certain books that lots of us would love to read together, then it will be great to choose those titles as future book club reads too
6Re-me.
I've had a look at future films, and I saw
Revolutionary Road - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0959337/
The Reader - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0976051/ (I loved that book)
Please don't see that as me trying to hijack the book club, just more suggestions.
7Thanks for the suggestions Advah, they look ace!
The Reader looks great, will add that to the list!
Buzz did a book club on Revolutionary Road - you can check it out here: http://buzzsugar.com/1084969
Thanks again Advah. All suggestions gladly received
8hey.. as we probably are mostly girls i think we could definitely read "Confessions of a shopaholic".. but.. you could also pick books that have been made into movies and compare them.. like "Breakfast at Tiffanies" or "Brokeback Mountain".. I can`t really come up with ideas right now,but I`m just saying.. or another great title AND a great movie is "Love in the time of cholera" I really really loved the book and the movie as well.. well.. I just wanted to hope and I hope I`ll catch up with you with "choke" but didn`t really have the time for it lately..
9Thanks for the ideas Diana0504, they're great!
I really enjoy comparing books and their film versions, so I'm glad you do too.
If you get a chance to read Choke I'd love to hear what you think of it - it's such a fascinating book.
Thanks again for the suggestions, I'll look forward to reading some of these titles with you
10I highly recommend The Time Traveller's Wife--I flew through this book when I read it and it's one of my all-time favorites. And after having watched the trailer for Revolutionary Road, I immediately put the book on my "to read" list. I cannot wait for both films to come out!
11Thanks for your recommendations bibliophile!
12Great picks but also can't wait for "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodie Picoult. The book is amazing and so far the cast for the movie seems pretty good too.
