Honestly... why can't we make mistakes anymore.... Apologies said and accepted...It was a stupid stupid thing to have done and even more foolish of Russell and the producer/team to air it. But all this fuss... only two of his audience complained... the rest have come from people (probably not knowing the full story) who aren't a fan of Russell jumping on bored the witch hunt bandwagon..

I'm not a fan of Russell.. and I totally disagree with what he and Jonathan said and did. But I also believe in people making mistakes and once apologies are done, said and accepted.. maybe it's time to let thing be.

i totally agree that people make mistakes, everyone does, but tbh i think its a mixture of things, 1. even a 7 year old would know what they did was bad and its basically telling people let alone kids yea go and degrade people its funny.... i think that in this case he should have been sacked but i respect him more for resigning, i want Russell to do well coz in a way i sort of feel sorry for him about his past, but this was waaay to far, i herd 10000 people complained, how embarrassing. There is so no way J R will leave though, he would never leave his money income....lol

My whole thing with Brand is that's he's always putting his foot in his mouth! What he did was totally inappropriate- just like at the MTV Awards when he criticized and publicly made fun of the Jonas Brothers for their choice of chastity until marriage. Now I'm not really familiar with them all that much but it was just uncomfortable to watch him continually crack on them during the show!

This whole thing has been blown out of proportion, I can't believe he's resigning. I loved listening to this show every week, this is terrible. I'm going to miss it. Its unfair that complaints mostly from those who don't even listen to the show have ruined it for all those who do.

As for the jokes at the MTV Awards, I thought Russell was hilarious and don't understand why he was so crucified when wasn't it last year when Sarah Silverman made jokes about Britney's kids being mistakes?

Although the prank call on the radio show was stupid and a mistake, I think people need to lighten up. I'm tired of the press and just people in general taking small events and blowing them out of proportion. Like there aren't other more important things to worry about. I mean, did the prime minister really need to comment on this?

I very much agree with what Tototee. There's also the fact that there are so many other more offensive Comedians on the BBC - who I'm sure they get a lot more complaints about (Little Britain, Frankie Boyle etc). If you're a regular listener of Russel Brand's Radio Show (or even his comedy) you come to expect a certain type of humour (not saying this was ok btw, this went a little too far), so I very much doubt that the 10,000 complaints the BBC received were from regular listeners, but simply busy-body's who simply want something to complain about. I think it's a bad move the BBC suspending Jonathan, that can only lead to a plummet in viewing figures surely, but we'll see.

I completely agree, SW. There are so many shows and comedians who do worse than that, why has this suddenly been blown way out of proportion?!
The whole complaints thing is also getting very annoying; people should get a life instead of deciding to complain about something they haven't heard three days later..

Advah it wasn't even 3 day's later.. the show and phone call happened on the 18th Oct!...

I wonder if in an attempt to keep Jonathan Ross they've pushed Russell out the door... Anyway completely agree with SW.. well said!

I am so disappointing that Russell will no longer be doing a radio show!! I looked forward to it every week. For me, it is what he does best, plus, his camaraderie with Matt Morgan was great!
