John Sergeant has quit Strictly Come Dancing, saying that he's worried he may win the competition, despite not having the abilities of the other contestants. He's received constant criticism from the judges, but the love of the great British public has kept him completely safe from being voted off the show. He'll return on Saturday's show for a "farewell dance". John said:
"The trouble is that there is now a real danger that I might win the competition. Even for me that would be a joke too far. I am sorry to say I have decided to leave Strictly Come Dancing. It was always my intention to have fun on the show and I was hoping to stay in as long as possible."

yeah i think he did the right thing but I cant believe what a fuss it is causing! lol crazy...
1I wish he'd of left before Cheri got voted off last weekend. She really did not deserve to leave, but I think this is very amicable of him. If only Kate Garraway had done this last year.
2yes i wonder why he chose now to do it? and not before last Saturday...because everythings the same except that he has allowed someone who was very good to be voted out!
3Don't watch it.. but did see him dragging his partner on the floor.. classic tele... I do think it's unfair to all the people who have been voting for him...
Do think Cheri should be reinstated.. she's lovely....
4thats so stupid, so many people have voted for him, and i think it was well out of order the judges being so harsh, are they so thick to think that this show was just about dancing, i thought it was about learning to dance, if they want just good dancers then use professionals not celebs...hes such a sweet man and it was wrong to be so nasty about him, uh i cant stand arlene phillips, shes such a twit.
5I think it's got blown out of all proportion now - whether he stayed or left he'd have been criticised. But the nature of the show is that it's part dance/part popularity contest so I think the judges should really get a hold of this. They seemed to change their tune last week so maybe they realised that their criticism of John was only encouraging more people to vote for him! I wish he'd stayed for tha fun of it and to see how it all panned out.
6PS The awful James was a pain as usual...
