We can always count on our homegrown soaps to keep us regularly entertained with true to life and ridiculously outlandish storylines that lead to plenty of laughs and tears. Hollyoaks, Eastenders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale all pull in large, loyal audiences, but for our Best of 2008 series, I'd love to know which one you like the most, so tell me — which is your favourite British soap?

not a big soap watcher... but I occasionally tune into Hollyoaks on a sunday..
1ooooh! this was fun! i voted eastenders, though i love corrie too. ee was just better this year.
...i watched my first episode of hollyoaks the other day... i'm too scared to watch in case i get hooked. i don't need to be watching 3 soaps.
2I stopped watching Eastenders...dull and miserable. Coronation Street is OK. Even though it's so-bad-it's-good, Hollyoaks is the best one.

4Enders, its so over the top depressing but i love it, its sort of cosy in a strange way...and Hollyoaks if im in.
5Not a fan of these soaps. Too depressing!
6not a big fan of soaps either, but if Eastenders is on I would watch that over any of the others. Penny C i agree - they are all too depressing!
7i started watch eastender when was 8 yrs old now am 17. never stopped watch it.
