Here at Sugar UK HQ we love a bit of homegrown pop, and these four groups have been at the forefront of it this year. The X Factor judge Cheryl Cole's day job — Girls Aloud — have had a great year, as have our other big British girl group the Sugababes. Take That's comeback has also gone from strength to strength, and McFly returned to prominence with their latest album released on their shiny new record label. For our Best of 2008 series, I'd love to know which one you like the most — so tell me, which is your favourite British pop group?

8I can't pick any of these as it's not really my music, but that new Girls Aloud song is so annoying and it's everywhere! Anyone think the new Take That song sounds very much like Coldplay?
9in terms of personality and the fun factor mcfly, the other lot take them selves waaaaaay to seriously, but in terms of music probably sugababes.

11girl groups are way too manufactured and fake.
12and though take that had a good song, i can't say i like more then two songs by them.
mcfly have both musical skills and great personalities--they do charity, release catchy singles and they're just great guys; so that's my pick.
woo, mcfly are winning! they deserve to win the most out of all of those!
