Russell Brand was out and about over the weekend, heading from his house to an osteopath appointment in North London. His movie Bedtime Stories premiered in the UK last week, with Russell taking to the red carpet with costar Adam Sandler. In contrast to his reputation in the media over here, director Adam Shankman had this to say about the controversial comedian:

"Russell has the craziest reputation over here, I mean, that Russell Brand never showed up on my set. I think I am the first person in the media who has ever called Russell Brand an angel. He was the sweetest most generous man, the kids loved him and they ended up hanging out with him all the time, he became like an uncle to the kids. I feel like that Russell Brand is more like a persona that everybody knows around here, but on our set he couldn't have been a nicer man. I loved him."
What do you think? Are you ready to forgive and forget Russell for the "Manuelgate" fiasco?

well i think that it's great that we can see now that he's not always the insane and crazy person that the media makes him out to be. i have a feeling that it's just a persona that he likes to put out there and he does have the ability to be normal about things. i like russell and i'm so happy that someone's saying nice things about him.
as for the movie - i'm jealous that it's out in the UK early - but hopefully it's getting great reviews.
1i just wish he would show that nice side of himself more often, instead of using vulgar 'comedy' to get attention.
2Awww it's such a cute quote!
3Yes please forgive him. Jeez, I listened to what he did and even though I thought what he said wasn't the smartest thing to say, the backlash is still way too much. Russell has always been controversial and so what? He's a comedian. It's his persona, his job. Get over it. He's great at what he does.
4Comedians can be very funny without being utterly rude to individual people who havn't asked for publicity. If they have so be it.
5As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing to forgive.
Russell made a mistake, he rectified it by apologising and resigning from his Radio show (which I am sure I'm not alone in missing). Honestly, what more could he do!?
He's not always this 'insane' person the media portrays him as, or even the potential 'antiChrist' the Daily Mail seem fixated on showing him as. His fans will know that. Infact, anyone with half a brain should know that as not one person in the world is the same person 24/7. That is what we call 'compartmentalising your personality'.
Russell is a very talented, charming, funny and lovely man - and that quote, well, that's just very sweet and obviously true from the directors experience.
If the media would just let that ridiculous scandal, that was entirely created by the media, die we could all go on living our lives, Russell included. He's paid his dues. What more do you want? Blood?
6HOT. and i love what shankman said, so sweet. he has got to have kids at some point, he just looks too good with them.
7Mmm.... I'm enjoying Russell pic posts. And I agree with huwiee, there is nothing to forgive, it shouldn't have been so blown out of proportion in the first place.
8How could you not forgive him! Poor old Russell, and that mean media. hehehe.
Although, I do hope he owns more than one pair of those Sass and Bide leggings, because he NEVER seems to be without them!
9Russell is an angel. They come in many forms. He loves the poor and he's amazingly honest about himself. He is not perfect and acts childish sometimes, probably because he gets on an adrenaline rush of excitement and doesn't realize he's doing something hurtful. He's like a big kid. When he does, he takes responsibility and apologizes sincerely. I can't believe he would want to hurt anyone, and when he does, he feels great remorse.
I believe we are made perfect in our imperfection and the sooner we realize and accept this, the happier we will all be, not to mention more tolerent of each other.
One other thing I want to address to DISNEY: Russell will make a much better pirate that Robert Pattison. Pattison may be a real hottie, but Russell is a pirate and would make POTC4 much more enjoyable, especially he and Jack bouncing off each other.
Russell is an angel.
