Lily Allen was back at her regular London haunt The Groucho Club last night, attracting attention in her bright lipstick, leopard print coat and green boots. After the comments she made in an interview with The Word magazine were published, a statement has been released to clarify Lily's position on drugs. The comment had been in reference to a new song "Everyone's At It", and her publicist stated:

"At no point does she say that drugs are a good thing or that she condones drug use; in fact, she says that 'I can spot the signs (of people on drugs) and it terrifies me'. The song itself talks about a culture of both legally prescribed drugs like anti-depressants and also illegal drug use. Lily Allen would like to state unequivocally that she does not condone illegal drug use and has every sympathy with individuals and families whose lives have been blighted by drugs."
The majority of your comments on yesterday's story agreed with Lily's view on how drugs are viewed in the media, how do you feel about the release of this statement?
Christian Dior
Irene Neuwirth
Mavi Jeans
These pictures are so unflattering. I wish she'd take that cigarette out of her mouth!
1the pictures from yesterday were so much nicer - so lets see those again. i agree - she needs to take the cig out of her mouth. as for her comments - you kind of have to feel bad for people sometimes. things are at times blown SO out of proportion
2i just think she should keep her mouth shut about stuff like that - it only gets her in trouble! as for these pictures...i have no words.
3It's annoying when you have to clarify because people reads too much into what you say, I can't imagine how annoying must get for famous people because *everybody* is listening what they say.
4Cute freckles though!
5oo advah they are cute freckles!! i never noticed!
6The leopard coat probably mesmerised you.
7i actually think she looks really chic in the pic on the right, she looks really gorgeous, lv her lipstick.
8I'm actually surprised that there wasn't a statement from her publicist faster - it begs the question 'Is all publicity good publicity?"
I think if everybody had some experience with the horrible effects of drug use & abuse, they would feel the same and agree with the media portrayal of drugs -
How can anything that causes all manner of mental illness, families to be ripped apart and death etc, EVER be taken lightly??
9I also read an interview with the mum of that actress who died from taking drugs last year with her fiance mark speight from kids TV ....apparently they were not addicts and used it just to celebrate or whateva and she died in a really horrible way, i agree with the mum about how it was thick of Lilly to flippantly say that its not that big a deal and its been portrayed in a bad way by the media....um yea...course it is, its an illegal drug that as a fact can kill anyone no matter how healthy or otherwise....shes an idiot....if the media portrayed it as a good thing and just a laugh then that would be a really scary thing....i h8 the media in the way they promote celebs in stupid ways but people forget media produces news and the news we need to know is what is good and bad for us...I'm 19 and go out a lot but i never touch drugs i know a few people who do it but tbh they are the gimps who no one really bothers with coz they are sheep who just follow the herd, who has respect for people who don't have their own personality and says yes to everything....
