Life is swell for the Wallings and the Ostroffs in the trailer for indie comedy The Oranges. The two West Orange, NJ families are thick as thieves, until the patriarch of the Wallings family (Hugh Laurie) is discovered to be having motel rendezvous with Nina Ostroff (Leighton Meester), the 24-year-old daughter of his best friend (Oliver Platt). The revelation throws a wrench in the families' perfect suburban coexistence. Stern parent-child talks ensue, punches are thrown, and incredibly inappropriately photoshopped Christmas cards are sent out.
It's kind of weird to see Hugh Laurie embodying anything other than House's crippled curmudgeon demeanor. I know he had a career before House, and will presumably after, but it's still an adjustment. Having said that, this trailer has sold me on the movie. The situation seems realistic, but the characters are clever enough to make it heartbreakingly funny, rather than just awkward. Jessica Biel stepped out to support her boyfriend, GQ Men of the Year honoree Justin TImberlake, and the rest of the handsome guys who earned the title last night in LA. It was also JT, Jessica, and Jon Hamm's second night in a row partying at the Chateau Marmont, but this time they were joined by everyone from Jay-Z and Jimmy Fallon to OC costars Adam Brody and Ben McKenzie for the star-studded soiree.
Jay-Z was fresh off a week in Miami with his pregnant wife Beyoncé, who was spotted in a bikini for a yacht trip over the weekend. Last night, though, it was all about the guy time as he had an animated conversation with Justin and Jimmy inside the bash. JT is also wrapping up an exciting week since just last Saturday he went to the Marine Corps Ball, and this weekend it's his fellow (wo)man of the year Mila Kunis's turn to attend her military gala.

A glowing and energetic Jennifer Garner went straight from her TIFF Butter premiere to the InStyle and HFPA bash at the Windsor Arms hotel in Toronto last night. The Tommy Hilfiger-sponsored party started late, but the stars were still eager to step inside and enjoy the festivities. Jennifer was joined by her Butter costars including Olivia Wilde and Ashley Greene, who could also celebrate the hugely hyped new Breaking Dawn trailer that debuted yesterday afternoon. Cute Adam Brody and Chace Crawford caught up inside the event after their red carpet debuts of Damsels in Distress and Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding, respectively. Anna Kendrick spent her day doing press for 50/50, during which she gushed to us about working with a few handsome costars recently — both Chace and Jake Gyllenhaal!
Jessica Chastain has been making the rounds while at TIFF, and this time she let loose with Katie Couric and Kathy Griffin. Jessica was in a black dress she actually purchased while in Toronto. Kathy stopped to chat on her way in and spoke to us about appearing on her friend Anderson Cooper's new talk show this week. On the episode Kathy stopped by Anderson's place, and last night she reciprocated with an invitation saying, "Anderson can come to my house. He's afraid to, but he can. I have a chef. He will be fed like he's never been fed before. I like to call him chubby. He will be well fed and well loved."
The cast of Scream 4 kept the good times rolling last night, heading from their movie premiere to an afterparty at The Redbury Hotel. Courteney Cox stuck close to her costars in the movie, like Neve Campbell, Anna Paquin, Emma Roberts, and Kristen Bell, but she also had her small-screen buddies on hand showing their support. Her friends from Cougar Town like Busy Philipps, Ian Gomez, and her shirtless and bikini-filled vacation buddy Josh Hopkins were on hand to toast Courteney's foray back to the big screen. Even Isla Fisher turned out for the bash during a breaking hanging with her baby daughter Elula.
The guys and girls of Scream 4 assembled in LA last night to premiere their latest installment in director Wes Craven's series. Courteney Cox and David Arquette put their divorce aside to pose on the carpet with their costar Neve Campbell, who has been busy making the interview rounds to support the project over the last few weeks. Both David and Courteney, who recently visited Disney with their 6-year-old daughter Coco, also have had their fair share of press to do, including a stop at the junket where he spoke about their meeting 15 years ago, and she talked about how scary Scream is. Their red carpet was jam-packed with their many costars, including newcomers like Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, and Anthony Anderson. There's also more plot details: on the anniversary of the Woodsboro murders, Sidney returns to her hometown, and not so coincidentally, a copycat killer stars picking off victims. Her teenage cousin Jill (Emma Roberts) naturally becomes one of the pursued, along with her best friends, like Hayden Panettiere. The new preview also gives a glimpse of actors in bit parts, like Adam Brody, Marley Shelton, and Alison Brie — some of whom as they're getting killed. Chilling. Katie Holmes had a busy day of promo for The Romantics in NYC yesterday. She stopped by Regis and Kelly and ABC studios before filming her appearance on Dave Letterman's show. In the evening she got dressed up to attend the film's screening with Tom Cruise by her side, joining her cute costars Josh Duhamel, Elijah Wood, Malin Ackerman and Adam Brody. Katie and Tom have been enjoying family time in the city with stylist Suri. At the press junket yesterday, Katie spoke about how amazing it is to have Suri on set, and she already reportedly has another big film in the works.
