Selena Gomez was the lady in red last night when she attended the Spring Breakers LA premiere in a crimson-colored Reem Acra gown. She was joined by her costars James Franco, Ashley Benson, and Vanessa Hudgens, who wore a dramatically feathered Naeem Khan frock to the event. It was a big night for young Hollywood, as other celebrity attendees included Ashley's Pretty Little Liars costar Shay Mitchell, Modern Family star Sarah Hyland, and Vanessa Hudgens's High School Musical friend Ashley Tisdale. This marks the first official stateside premiere of the highly anticipated flick, but the cast did host a special screening of Spring Breakers at SXSW on Sunday. It's also Selena's first public appearance since an alleged new song was leaked off of her upcoming album.
David Beckham sat courtside at the Lakers game in LA last night. He and pal Dave Gardner watched the home team lose against the Orlando Magic, but David was still full of smiles. He was greeted by players Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard and also signed his autograph for a young fan. David switched to the spectator role following an emotional sports event of his own. On Saturday, David played his last game with the LA Galaxy. They won the MLS Cup championship with support from David's whole family. Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz were all on hand to cheer on their dad and they celebrated together after the match with Victoria, who returned home from the UK with Harper later in the evening.
InStyle threw a Summer soiree at the London Hotel in Hollywood last night. Editor Ariel Foxman played host to a range of starlets, including Ashley Tisdale, Nikki Reed, and a Ted Baker-clad Sophia Bush. Malin Akerman and Jaime King both made the scene, too, each wearing red dresses. Jaime, who donned Marchesa, arrived on the arm of her husband, Kyle Newman, while an Erin by Erin Fetherston-clad Ashley made the rounds, getting compliments on her braid, with boyfriend Scott Speer. Jordana Brewster broke from promoting her new show, Dallas, to hit the town. After posing on the carpet, the ladies moved to the hotel's rooftop to mingle with male attendees like Peter Facinelli and Derek Hough. Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling teamed up for the LA premiere of The Lucky One last night at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. They had company on the green carpet from costars Jay R. Ferguson, Riley Thomas Stewart, and Blythe Danner. Even Zac's High School Musical buddy Ashley Tisdale, decked out in a two-toned Naven dress, came out.
Taylor and Zac have been racking up the frequent flier miles promoting their Nicholas Sparks adaptation. They were recently Down Under, promoting the film in Sydney and Melbourne with press events and screenings. The picture is full of the love scenes we've come to expect from big-screen versions of Sparks's books. Zac didn't mind the sex scenes and said at the premiere yesterday, "Everyone builds those scenes up. There is sort of a fear inherent in everyone else so me and Taylor weren't afraid at all."
With hot weather upon us, it can be challenging to find ways to keep your hair looking styled and fabulous. Take a cue from some of these creative entertainers who have found new ways to look great this Summer!
Diane Kruger led the fashionable parade at last night's screening of the short film Muta, hosted by Miu Miu, in LA. The piece was the second commissioned by Miu Miu in its Women's Tales series and was directed by Lucrecia Martel. Diane was joined by the brand's newest face Hailee Steinfeld as well as Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol costars Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton. It was Jeremy's latest evening out on the town following a Monday spent at the Chateau Marmont with Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. Other stylish stars stepped out for the viewing, like Jaime King, Malin Akerman, and Emma Roberts. The event came just after Diane Kruger's 35th birthday a few days ago. Miu Miu was the designer of choice for many of the ladies yesterday, with Hailee, Emma, and Diane all donning one of its designs.
There was some Ashley Tisdale bikini time in store Saturday at the Venus Pool Club in Las Vegas! Ashley threw on her two-piece to wade into the water and chill on a deck chair with a fruit plate. It was the latest two-piece sighting for the actress since Ashley Tisdale and Zac Efron were at the beach in Malibu over the July 4 holiday. Ashley's waterside jaunt came after an evening out at Pure nightclub. She tweeted about her excitement to let loose with friends during a belated birthday celebration. Ashley turned 26 on July 2, but she's stretching out the parties ahead of getting down to work on her next project, Holly, Jingles and Clyde 3D.
Disneyland rolled out a black carpet for Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp at the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides world premiere last night. New mom Penelope was without her two favorite guys, husband Javier Bardem and baby Leo, but she did stop to hug Mickey Mouse before joining the rest of the cast on stage. Johnny too walked the press line solo before stopping to chat with his close friend, and Jack Sparrow inspiration, Keith Richards. Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush was in high spirits as was up-and-comer Sam Claflin. Sam's fairly fresh to the Hollywood scene, but the British actor just landed the role of Prince Charmot opposite Kristen Stewart in their upcoming take on the classic fairy tale, Snow White and the Huntsman. Many celebrities also turned out to catch the fourth installment of Jerry Bruckheimer's Pirates franchise. Best friends Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale posed together as did mother-daughter duo Teri Hatcher and Emerson Rose. Eva Longoria joined her Desperate Housewives cast mate Teri at the event after throwing Victoria Beckham a baby shower earlier in the day.
Today Ashely Tisdale took to the Twitter-verse to announce the enviable arrival of her very own Hermès Birkin. The delivery marked the end of a two-year-long wait the actress endured for a covetable piece of fashion iconography. The bag, created in 1984 and named for Jane Birkin, ranges from $9,000 to $150,000 and has become essentially synonymous with luxury — and not easy to come by. So, in honor of Ashley's fashionable milestone, we're taking a look at the other celebs who braved the wait list and scored their very own Hermès totes.
Gwyneth Shares Her Great Shape Secrets During a Good Housekeeping Night With Meryl, Christy, and More
Gwyneth Paltrow got some of her best Big Apple girlfriends together last night for Good Housekeeping's Shine On Awards, which honored the achievements of powerful women. The actress was there to salute the work and raise awareness around maternal health done by Christy Turlington Burns, and they shared the evening with other ladies like Meryl Streep, Rebecca Romijn, and new mom Ali Larter. Gwyneth, who was on the cover of the magazine's February issue, has been busy with her return to Glee, which airs next week, and promoting her latest publication — she hosted a dinner for friends like Cameron Diaz, Jay-Z, and Mario Batali on Monday to toast her new cookbook My Father's Daughter. She was on hand yesterday to congratulate others, but Gwyneth took a minute to discuss the long hours she spends maintaining her awesome figure. Gwyneth said on the red carpet, "The reason that I can be 38 and have two kids and wear a bikini is because I work my [expletive] ass off. It's not an accident. It's not luck, it's not fairy dust, it's not good genes. It's killing myself for an hour and a half five days a week, but what I get out of it is relative to what I put into it. That's what I try to do in all areas of my life."
