Brad Pitt Opens Up About "Emotional and Beautifully Inspiring" Few Months With Angelina

Brad Pitt opened up even more about Angelina Jolie's health and cancer preventative surgeries in an interview he conducted with USA Today after his partner revealed her story yesterday. Brad kept his first statement about Angelina's double mastectomy surgeries short and sweet, but in this lengthier conversation, he delved into how their six kids coped and why it was so important to Angelina to share her experience with women around the world. Brad started:

"I'm quite emotional about it, of course. She could have stayed absolutely private about it and I don't think anyone would have been none the wiser with such good results. But it was really important to her to share the story and that others would understand it doesn't have to be a scary thing. In fact, it can be an empowering thing, and something that makes you stronger and us stronger."

Brad also spoke about Angelina's decision to honor her commitment to speak at the G8 summit, travel to Africa, and speak in New York "just weeks after she'd had truly major surgery" and how the family was able to "make an adventure" out of her recovery.

The saga isn't over, and just this morning the news broke that Angelina will move forward on removing her ovaries as well. As his parting words in his interview, Brad spoke about what this has meant to him, saying it's been "an emotional and beautifully inspiring few months. And I'll tell you, it's such a wonderful relief to come through this and not have a spectre hanging over our heads."

Brad's Statement on Angelina: "All I Want Is For Her to Have a Long and Healthy Life"

Brad Pitt has made a statement of his own following his fiancée Angelina Jolie's decision to undergo a double mastectomy.

Brad Pitt has made a statement of his own following his fiancée Angelina Jolie's decision to undergo a double mastectomy. Angelina's article about the procedure was published in today's New York Times, and Brad released a few moving words of his own to UK newspaper The Evening Standard. Brad said:

"Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie's choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic. I thank our medical team for their care and focus. All I want for is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children. This is a happy day for our family."

Angelina, whose decision was prompted by the results of a genetic test and her mother's death from ovarian cancer at age 56, underwent the double mastectomy over the course of this year in LA. Angelina wrote of Brad's unwavering support in the Times, commenting, "I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive. . . . Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Center, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries. We managed to find moments to laugh together. We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has."

Vanity Fair Goes Behind the Scenes of Brad Pitt's Troubled World War Z

Brad Pitt covers the June issue of Vanity Fair, which will be out on newsstands and digitally across the country on May 7.

Brad Pitt covers the June issue of Vanity Fair, which will be out on newsstands and digitally across the country on May 7. Inside the issue, various executives from Paramount, the studio behind his June 21 release, World War Z, talk about their much-publicized production difficulties. Among their troubles were a budget that spiraled to $200 million and having to make the tough decision to reshoot 40 minutes of the film.

Brad doesn't appear to be quoted directly in the piece, but screenwriter Damon Lindelof conveyed the actor's enthusiasm for making World War Z. Damon said, "[Brad] took me through how excited he was when he read the book, what was exciting for him, the geopolitical aspect of it. . . . But when we started working on the script, a lot of that stuff had to fall away for the story to come together. We started shooting the thing before we locked down how it was going to end up, and it didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to. My sense of it was he was taking responsibility." Brad Pitt was on hand for Paramount's presentation at CinemaCon, held at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, yesterday in Las Vegas. Brad took the stage at the annual event, held for the nation's cinema owners, to promote his upcoming zombie film, World War Z. Addressing the audience, Brad said that he made the movie for his kids. Brad said, "I just wanted to do a film that my boys could see before they were 18. I think you are going to like this as much as my boys will." The jaunt to Nevada came after Brad appeared on Sunday at LA's MTV Movie Awards. He'll likely have more promotional stops in his future, as he and director Marc Forster gear up for World War Z's June 21 release.

Brad Pitt Presents an MTV Movie Award With a Ponytail

Brad Pitt made a special appearance at the MTV Movie Awards in LA on Sunday night.

Brad Pitt made a special appearance at the MTV Movie Awards in LA on Sunday night. He presented the award for movie of the year to The Avengers. Brad may be up for his own golden popcorn next year, if World War Z gets a nomination following its June release.

Brad made the award-show stop during a break from family time. He's been hanging on the West Coast with his kids while Angelina Jolie has been busy traveling. She popped up in London for the G8 summit last week and returned home to LA with Maddox by her side just in time for the weekend. The whole Jolie-Pitt crew was together last month, though, when they spent Easter weekend in Santa Barbara, CA.

Rebel Wilson kicked off the 2013 MTV Movie Awards this evening with a little help from her pal James Franco and musical accompaniment from her Pitch Perfect costars. She told a handful of jokes before the golden popcorn presenting began, and Bradley Cooper was the first to win, coming up tops in the category of best male performance thanks to Silver Linings Playbook. Next, Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson took home best WTF moment for Django Unchained. Samuel L. Jackson was able to pick up two popcorns in a row — he and his Avengers costars Tom Hiddleston and Chris Evans won for best fight.

Eddie Redmayne had fans screaming when he introduced 2013 Trailblazer Award winner Emma Watson, who had the support of her boyfriend, Will Adamowicz. Her This Is the End costar Jonah Hill also had kind words for her via video and joked that they're going to star in the Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation together. Later, another special honor went to Comedic Genius Will Ferrell — who was only briefly interrupted during his acceptance speech by "stage crasher" Aubrey Plaza — who commented that he had only two dreams in life: to make people laugh and to dress like Dennis Rodman every day. The night's final special designation went to Generation Award winner Jamie Foxx.

The evening wrapped up with a few particular highlights. Kim Kardashian showed her presenting skills to introduce Selena Gomez, who sang her new track "Come and Get It" for the first time publicly. Liam Hemsworth, additionally, went on stage to introduce a special clip from Catching Fire. Finally, a happy-looking Brad Pitt took the stage to present movie of the year to The Avengers. There were many more popcorns handed out — make sure to check out the full list of MTV Movie Award winners.
