Angelina Jolie managed to find a gown to stay warm in, a cream-coloured angora Atelier Versace with a dangerously high slit, for the NYC premiere of The Tourist last night. She accessorised with earrings by Robert Procop, with whom she just announced a new jewellery line collaboration. She had her sexy other half, Brad Pitt, on her arm and costar Johnny Depp just a few feet away on the red carpet. Angelina and Brad arrived in the city over the weekend and wasted no time bringing Knox and Vivienne to pick up art supplies on the latest stop in the family's jet-setting year. Angelina's name is back in headlines, though the controversy is not of her making. Angelina's promotional tour will bring her to The Today Show in the morning while Johnny's stopping by to chat with David Letterman. Johnny and Angelina have shared tons of glowing words about each other during their promotional tour, while also giving fans a peek into their own experiences making the movie. Their first big-screen collaboration hits cinemas on Friday, when we'll see if the A-list team can dominate the box office together.

The Costume Institute Gala at the Met in New York City was full of A-list stars last night. Tons of British celebs joined American friends for the fashionable event, with Alexa Chung standing out from the crowd in her trouser suit. Emma Watson unsurprisingly went for Burberry and looked gorgeous in her long white dress, while Carey Mulligan opted for a short number in her purple Miu Miu. Sienna Miller was classic in black Pucci and was joined by Jude Law on the red carpet. Let FabUK know who you think is the best dressed Brit.

Thandie Newton went floor length and fabulous in her purple gown, while Rosie Huntington-Whitely left the side of her new beau Jason Statham to stun in a strapless nude number. Rachel Weisz also went strapless but brought a pop of bright pink to the red carpet, and Anna Wintour was ever the classy Brit in her shimmering silver dress.

The was a whole assortment of different colours on the red carpet, but black and pale were big favourites. Kristen Stewart went to the dark side in Chanel, while Katy Perry went light and glow in the dark! Emilie de Ravin opted for short and nude while Taylor Swift was long and white. There were lots of glam dresses on the red carpet at Cipriani in New York City last night for the amfAR gala benefit which helped kick off New York Fashion Week. Model Doetzen Kroes went for a Marilyn Monroe look with her big hair and white dress, while Chloe Sevigny looked demure in black. Eliza Dushku arrived on the arm of her man Rick Fox, while Zoe Saldana stood solo and strong in her gorge printed dress. Joely Richardson attended with her mother Vanessa Redgrave, who will recieve this year's BAFTA Fellowship for her contribution to film.

Vanessa chatted to Meryl Streep at the event, Doetzen chatted to Zoe Kravitz, and Cynthia Nixon hung out with Julianna Margulies. Mary-Kate Olsen joked around with Zac Posen, and Lady GaGa and Rufus Wainwright performed during the evening. What a star studded night!

The work of Tim Burton is being celebrated at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in a brand new exhibition that launched last night, and a selection of stars turned out to take a look at the collection. Tim Burton and his wife Helena Bonham Carter attended and posed for photos with Tim's buddy Johnny Depp, who was looking gorgeous as always! His sexiness has been verified by People magazine who have named him sexiest man alive! Do you agree? New Moon's Ashley Greene took a night off from promotion and checked out the exhibition, as did Rose Byrne who was also dressed in black. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen also attended the event, wearing big coats and carrying matching bags — check out the colourful streaks in Ashley's hair! Brooke Shields, Chace Crawford, Chloe Sevigny and Mark Indelicato from Ugly Betty were among those that attended a party hosted by Blackberry in New York last night. Chloe looked stunning in her nude dress and bright lipstick, although I'd hate to hazard a guess at how long those shoes took to put on! Chace is currently filming the third series of Gossip Girl at the moment, although we've had more glimpses at his costars shooting in the streets of NYC than him lately! He was looking gorgeous as he stepped out last night, his blue eyes really stand out against his black outfit, don't they? Also at the party was Olivia Palermo and Ashley Madekwe, who you might remember from Secret Diary of a Call Girl — she'll be appearing alongside Mischa Barton in new TV show The Beautiful Life!

Michael Jackson was remembered in a huge memorial service at the LA Staples Center yesterday, featuring performances and words from friends, family and fans of the late King of Pop. Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, John Mayer and Usher were among those performing songs, while Brooke Shields, Motown founder Barry Gordy, the Rev. Al Sharpton and basketball stars Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant were among those that spoke of the man behind the legend. Young Britain's Got Talent star Shaheen Jafargholi sang confidently in front of the huge audience, both at the center and watching across the world on TV and online, while Jermaine Jackson sang Michael's favourite song "Smile".

The event was a huge star-studded production, but the reality of the family's loss was brought to our attention through the broken words of his eleven year old daughter Paris, who described Michael as "the best father you could imagine" before she broke down onstage. There were celebratory moments for his life, and some very moving moments — if you watched last night, what did you think?
