Beyoncé's worn a whole lot of covetable clothes — whether on tour or on Instagram in Topshop — but this might have been a first for her! While filming a music video in NYC yesterday, the pop star shied from her usual designer duds and picked a red Burberry trench with gold accents at the lapel and metallic silver pumps. We might have to wait until the video premieres to see the full styled look, but we smell the sparks of a future power couple. And, the question begs to be answered: will Beyoncé be replacing Sienna Miller as the face of the label any time soon? Maybe with her husband, like these ads? Could we be that lucky?
Wendy Rowe led the beauty team backstage at Burberry Prorsum, creating a pretty pink look on models including Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn. The beauty look introduced not only new Spring shades from Burberry Beauty, but also a special-edition set of nail colours inspired by the show. You can buy all the shades right now — Pale Grape, Sage Green, Rose Pink, Mink, Pale Yellow, and Dusky Mauve — in a limited-edition gift box for £90. As for the face, it was all about making the petal pinks look modern and not too twee. Soft pinks on the eyes and the nude pink lipstick Trench Kiss (out for Spring) did this perfectly, coupled with simple but slightly messy straight hair with a lived-in kink; many of the models had grown-out bobs, and those who didn't wore their longer lengths tucked into their trench coats where possible.
Just because you're not at London Fashion Week doesn't mean you can't watch the runways as they happen. No label proved that to be the case more than Burberry, which reinforced its tech savvy by partnering with Apple to capture its Spring 2014 show on the new iPhone 5s. The models are about to walk, so keep your eyes here to see the designs as they hit the catwalk!
Season after season, models come down the Burberry runway donning a clean makeup look with an occasional hint of colour. Hair is typically worn down, often topped off with a crisp, chic hat. But one thing is for sure: Burberry's simple yet pretty beauty looks feel as classic as the brand's iconic plaid design. Now that New York Fashion Week is winding down, it's time to focus our attention on London. In honour of Burberry's impending show at London Fashion Week (where we'll be going backstage), take a look back at some of the more memorable hair and makeup looks from the fashion house's previous catwalk shows.
Anything goes when it comes to London Fashion Week, but if you want to grab the attention of those street style snappers, then you'll need a few tricks up your sleeve. Start with a key piece from a London designer, and team with modern staples from the high street, like slouchy jeans, printed shirts, and leather skirts. Add bold accessories and the loudest coat you can find; even Burberry put hearts on its classic trench this season. Don't forget to plan your footwear, too. Statement heels will help you be seen, but by the end of the week, you'll want comfy boots to see you through the last of the shows!
Burberry Brit is taking a step outside its usual comfort zone with the release of its latest men's fragrance: Brit Rhythm. And that's immediately apparent in the first taste of Rhythm's campaign, which stars two hot young Brits: musician George Barnett of These New Puritans and actress Suki Waterhouse (who also happens to be dating Bradley Cooper). Inspired by music, the ad campaign for Brit Rhythm evokes the adrenaline and energy of a packed gig. Waterhouse and Barnett make their way through the crowds to the stage, while images of Brit Rhythm's bottles flash across the screen. Watch the sexy new advert above!
They say you never really want to know how the sausage gets made, but that adage probably wasn't intended for high-fashion images. In fact, the behind-the-scenes videos from some of Autumn 2013's best ad campaigns are almost as beautiful as looking at the finished images. From Mulberry's owl-filled imagery to the nonmodels in Prada's men's campaign, these short clips are definitely worth a look.
