Jay-Z and Coldplay rang in 2013 together with a joint New Year's Eve concert at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Monday night. Coldplay played the first set while Jay-Z took the stage shortly before midnight. Jay-Z and Chris Martin joined up for the countdown and to sing "Auld Lang Syne." Once Chris was finished belting out the New Year's staple, he flowed into Jay-Z's "Run This Town," filling in for Rihanna's chorus. While Jay-Z and Chris were rocking, Chris's wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, and their children, Apple and Moses, danced on stage. They weren't the only celebrities in the audience since Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted chatting with Jay-Z backstage and Christina Aguilera and her boyfriend, Matt Rutler, were also on hand. Once the concert was over, Chris and Jay-Z headed to the 40/40 Club for an afterparty without Gwyneth, who headed home with Apple and Moses.
Celebrities and rock stars joined up to help out with the 12/12/12 concert benefiting Hurricane Sandy victims in NYC last night. Katie Holmes, Kristen Stewart, and Blake Lively appeared at the event, which raised money for the Robin Hood Relief Fund. Blake donned a bright orange Isabel Marant dress, while Katie picked blue Tom Ford and Kristen wore a neon yellow Jonathan Simkhai getup.
Katie joined Jason Sudeikis to present a video called "Red Hook Rising," bringing attention to those affected in Brooklyn. Kristen, meanwhile, praised New Jerseyans and introduced Jon Bon Jovi. Blake spoke about Connecticut and brought out Chris Martin, who performed with Michael Stipe. Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Kanye West, and many more musicians performed at the 12/12/12 concert. Paul McCartney gave a sensational performance when he joined up with the surviving members of Nirvana, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, to perform a new song called "Cut Me Some Slack."
The concert was broadcast both on TV and for free in movie theaters in the tri-state area, so Sandy victims had a place to enjoy the music. Superstorm Sandy left many in New York and New Jersey homeless and without power after it drove through the area in late October.
Rihanna and Coldplay totally knocked their Grammy performance out of the park when it came on about one third of the way through the big show this evening in LA. Rihanna kicked things off with a solo rendition of "We Found Love," which she accompanied with her signature super sexy dance moves. She then teamed up with Coldplay for a medley of their songs, starting with "Princess of China" which went right into their hit "Paradise." It's already been a performance-packed Grammys, but Rihanna and Chris Martin's collaboration was certainly a highlight. Rih showed off some skin with her onstage outfit, but she also turned heads with her red carpet look earlier in the evening. Rihanna wore a custom-made Armani gown, which left little to the imagination.
Check out lots of pics of the Rihanna and Coldplay duet, and don't forget to vote in all of Fab and Bella's Grammys fashion and beauty polls!
Las Vegas got even crazier this weekend when the biggest names in music descended onto the property of the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino for the two-day iHeartRadio music festival. The good times kicked off on Friday with performances from Jay-Z, Coldplay, Alicia Keys, the Black Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson, and Jane's Addiction. Saturday night was just as star studded with energetic sets by Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Kenny Chesney, Nikki Minaj, Rascal Flats, Usher, and Sting. Music artists weren't the only big names on hand — American Idol host Ryan Seacrest made the trip to the desert to MC the show and brought along girlfriend, and star of the upcoming dance film Footloose, Julianne Hough. Twilight star Ashley Greene was rolling solo to introduce Rascal Flats while Glee's Cory Monteith welcomed Sublime to the stage.
Friends Alicia and Jay-Z closed down Friday night with a rocking rendition of their hit "Empire State of Mind" as Chris Martin watched on from backstage. There were no signs, though, of mom-to-be Beyoncé or Chris's wife Gwyneth Paltrow. The fans kept up their enthusiasm on Saturday when J Lo rocked out her hits "Papi" and "On the Floor." J Lo looked hot in a sexy red dress! Fresh off her tour with Britney Spears, Nikki Minaj got fans on their feet with her "Super Bass." Lady Gaga wrapped up the second night of festivities with a 50-minute set that included chart topper "The Edge of Glory."

Mark Owen and his wife Emma were among the celebs out to watch and take part in Gary Barlow's 40th birthday concert at Shepherd's Bush Empire last night. Gary took to the stage with Mark and Chris Martin among others during the two hour concert, and guests including James Corden, Chris Moyles, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Lulu, Ellie Goulding, Kimberley Walsh and Take That's Jason Orange were part of the crowd. Robbie Williams appeared with a recorded message, and Gary cleared up yesterday's news stories about him seeing Take That as a four-piece, by saying he knows that Robbie is still interested in his solo career, but he loves working with the lads whether there's four or five of them. This isn't too surprising as when the band reunited they stated it was just for a tour and an album. All proceeds from GB40 went to charity, and the event was broadcast live on Radio 2 — you can listen again here.
Jay-Z was the main attraction in Las Vegas, where he celebrated the Cosmopolitan and Marquee Nightclub's opening with Coldplay and special guests John Mayer and Kanye West. Chris Martin and Jay-Z's famous wives Gwyneth Paltrow and Beyonce Knowles weren't spotted on the grey carpet before the show, but a ton of famous fans were out. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan indulged in some PDA for the cameras, while Jessica Szohr, Kirsten Dunst, Kristen Davis, a slick-haired Kellan Lutz, and Mark Wahlberg all smiled solo. John, meanwhile, kept his distance publicly from some ladies he's been linked to lately like TV chef Giada De Laurentiis, who denied a link to him, and Rashida Jones. Beyonce was also on the list of performers, as she joined Jay-Z to perform "Young Forever," just like at Coachella.
Chris Martin played a brand new Coldplay song at an Apple event in San Francisco this week. He explained it might not ever come out, so this could be its only appearance. Chris described "Wedding Bells" as the beginning of a story that starts sadly, and before he started playing he warned the audience it could go terribly wrong! The frontman was riding solo, just him and the piano, so check it out below and let me know: would you spin it or sling it?
