With all the hype surrounding other big designer/high-street collaborations of late, it's easy to forget that 5 December marks the launch of the very glamorous collection from L'Wren Scott for Banana Republic. Last night some of her biggest supporters showed up for a launch event, and we loved seeing Mad Men costars Christina Hendricks and Jessica Paré hamming it up (pun intended!) in matching sequinned cardigans from the range. Their coordinating outfits also included ruffled blouses, pencil skirts, and killer heels, a mix of pieces from L'Wren Scott's mainline collection, and the new collaboration. The good news is it's a look you can easily re-create without queueing up on launch day. L'Wren's main range contains perfect pencil skirts and blouses, plus there are plenty of alternatives available if you know where to look. Stay ahead of the crowd by working this sexy secretary outfit long before December comes with our shopping picks below.
We've already declared the asymmetrical bob as the It cut for Fall 2013, and the stars at the Emmys seemed to be following suit by donning a variety of cropped styles on the red carpet. Claire Danes may have hair that goes past her shoulders, but she (pictured above) went for a polished faux bob for her Emmys appearance. And there were several other stars showing off their shorter hair with waves, smooth blowdries, and tousled textures. Elisabeth Moss, for instance, had us doing a double take with her bob, which she pinned back on the sides to make her style look almost like she had a long pixie. Regardless of how they wore their hair, the stars showed us how to dress up cropped locks for an evening affair.

Angelina Jolie popped up in Anaheim, CA, today to promote her upcoming flick Maleficent at Disney's D23 Expo. While introducing her film, the actress revealed that she managed to scare a few visiting children on the set of the film when she was dressed in her full Maleficent garb. She said, "These little kids would visit set, and I would think, 'Oh, I am a Disney character,' so I would go over to them and say, 'Hi there.' They would just scream." However, Angelina did reveal that her daughter Vivienne, who has a cameo in the film as a young Sleeping Beauty, was the only kid who didn't get scared when they saw Angie in costume. As for where the Jolie-Pitt brood was during Angelina's presentation, she revealed that they were all "playing in the park," aka Disneyland.
Angelina wasn't the only celebrity who showed up at Disney's big event. Natalie Portman, Kristen Bell, and Christina Hendricks all made appearances at the fan event. Keep clicking to see all the stars at the expo!
The cast of Mad Men got together last night at The Harvard Club in NYC, where they were celebrated by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. The show's leading ladies January Jones, Jessica Paré, and Christina Hendricks all chose different looks for the occasion — who gets your best-dressed vote? Jon Hamm, John Slattery, Vincent Kartheiser, and creator Matthew Weiner were also on hand and got together with their costars for a group photo on the red carpet.
It's been a busy few days for the Mad Men actors, who have been making the press rounds in the Big Apple following the season six premiere of their series earlier this month. John Slattery stopped by CBS This Morning yesterday and joked about how Matthew keeps the cast from leaking new scripts, while January sat down for an interview on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. They'll continue promotions today when they attend a panel at the Paley Center, and we'll be on hand to get the latest.
The fun continued inside Friday afternoon's AFI Awards in LA. The bash, held at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, was held to honor the year's best in film and television. A total of 10 films, including Silver Linings Playbook, Argo, Les Misérables, and Lincoln, were supported by their stars and directors. Daniel Day-Lewis made the rounds with his costar Sally Field and director Steven Spielberg, while Argo's Ben Affleck, fresh off a win in the best director category at the Critics' Choice Awards, was accompanied by his producers George Clooney and Grant Heslov.
The Silver Linings Playbook clan also had a good night at the Critics' Choice Awards. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence won top honors as best actor and actress in a comedy, and she also won best actress in an action movie for The Hunger Games. Their leading lady Jacki Weaver posed with Jennifer, and they were both in a celebratory mood because, in addition, their cast won best ensemble at the CCAs. The Les Mis crowd was well-represented, too. Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne, and Hugh Jackson all attended. They said hello to friends from movies and television, which included cast members from Mad Men, like Christina Hendricks, and the stars of Girls, Modern Family, and more.
Elle Fanning wore Dolce & Gabbana to join Christina Hendricks at a screening of their movie Ginger & Rosa at The Paley Center in LA last night. Christina also opted for a long dress, and apparently she and Elle have a similar taste in clothes. Elle told us she and Christina bonded over shopping, saying, "She loves vintage just like me. We share the love of that — she looks amazing."
Elle also had kind words for her costar in another project, Maleficent, Angelina Jolie. Elle admitted to being nervous when she first met Angelina. She told us last night, "I remember going into Pinewood Studios and turning the corner in London, seeing her for the first time and thinking, 'There she is!' And she immediately just gave me a huge hug. And she said, 'We're going to have so much fun working together!' From that moment I was like, 'Oh my God — she's touching me!'" Angelina and Elle won't be on the big screen together until 2014, but Elle's Ginger & Rosa is in select theaters now.
The Emmy Awards in LA tonight brought out a glamorous group of ladies. Mad Men's Christina Hendricks, January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, and Jessica Paré hit the red carpet in gorgeous looks, while 30 Rock's Tina Fey went with a purple Vivienne Westwood. Claire Danes, who won for Homeland, covered her baby bump in Lanvin, and Modern Family's Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen both brought pops of color to the evening. Nominee Nicole Kidman made an entrance with husband Keith Urban, and in Stella McCartney, Amy Poehler made her first public appearance since her split from husband Will Arnett. Make sure to check out all the pictures from the Emmys red carpet and see who wore what as the show continued.
Major stars of TV and film gathered together in LA today for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's 2012 Installation Luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Jennifer Lawrence stepped out in a Narciso Rodriguez ensemble and met up with her Silver Linings Playbook costar Bradley Cooper inside the event. Bradley and Jennifer will likely be spending time together this Fall while promoting their movie prior to its November release, but first, she'll report to Atlanta to start filming Catching Fire. Bradley's reportedly heading to Las Vegas to begin work on The Hangover Part III.
Mad Men's Christina Hendricks looked lovely in a black dress while posing for photos on the red carpet, as did Political Animals star Carla Gugino and Django Unchained's Kerry Washington. Inside the ballroom, old friends Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black shared a laugh while John Travolta posed for photos with peers. This year's gathering gave celebrities the chance to catch up and also served as an opportunity for the HFPA to announce its newly inducted officers.
Paris Fashion Week kicked off yesterday with the glamorous Versace show at the Ritz Hotel. Jessica Alba, Elizabeth Banks, Milla Jovovich and Mad Men's Christina Hendricks were on hand for the affair and all sat together in the front row before meeting up again to attend a special dinner with Donatella Versace. Lea Michele also made an appearance with her boyfriend, Cory Monteith. The Glee costars are enjoying their Summer break from filming, though they'll return to shooting their small-screen hit later this month. Lea's been taking advantage of her downtime with fun travels including a recent trip to Las Vegas and stops in Amsterdam and London, where she met up with pals Darren Criss and Matthew Morrison. Milla had her own celebrity run-in during her flight to France and tweeted, "Had the pleasure of sitting next to Jennifer Lawrence on the plane and chatting. She's so sweet and gorgeous!"
