After signing a five-month deal with his current team, Paris Saint-Germain, in January, David Beckham has announced he will retire at the end of the season. In a statement, David revealed the reasoning behind hanging up his cleats, explaining, "I'm thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level. If you had told me as a young boy I would have played for and won trophies with my boyhood club, Manchester United, proudly captained and played for my country over 100 times, and lined up for some of the biggest clubs in the world, I would have told you it was a fantasy. I'm fortunate to have realized those dreams."

The former England captain, who began his career with Manchester United at the young age of 14, will retire with a decorated history in the sport boasting many on-field accomplishments, including winning six Premier League titles and the Champions League. David also took the field for the US as a member of the LA Galaxy for six years and had a stint with Real Madrid, winning titles with both to add to his collection with Manchester United. His storied career will conclude in Paris on May 18 with PSG's game against Brest. In looking to the future, David said, "Nothing will ever completely replace playing the game I love. However, I feel like I'm starting a new adventure and I'm genuinely excited about what lies ahead. I'm fortunate to have been given many opportunities throughout my career and now I feel it's my time to give back."

David Beckham arrived in Beijing today to attend a junior football event with students at a middle school. David is on a five-day visit to China at the invitation of the China Football Association as its first international ambassador. The former star of the LA Galaxy took to the stage during a news conference to accept his new role and a medal of honor, and also to address the infamous match-fixing scandals of China's football league, saying it doesn't concern him. David also mentioned he hasn't ruled out playing for China professionally someday, then tucked in his tie and hit the field for an impromptu scrimmage with a few young players. The trip comes just after his stay in Berlin, where he launched his H&M underwear line.

David Beckham traveled to Berlin today to promote his underwear line for H&M. While he didn't strip down to his skivvies at the store appearance, he did sign items for a few fans and posed with his boxer briefs. David's shirtless underwear ads caused some rumors that he used a body double for the campaign, but he recently confirmed that the ads are all him. He said, "I can say the crotch is mine and the backside is mine as well."

David has been traveling all over Europe over the past few days. He played with his team, Paris Saint-Germain, in France on Sunday and then took a trip back home to London to be with daughter Harper on Monday. He'll have time to visit his family and keep up with his promotions over the next week, as his team's next match won't take place until the end of March.

David Beckham's mom and sister watched his team, Paris Saint-Germain, play Valencia in Paris yesterday, though he sat the game out on the bench. Despite not getting a chance to hit the field during the game, David cheered his team to a victory, which means that PSG will advance to the Champions League quarter finals later this week.

Before he got benched, David warmed up with his teammates on the field, but his coach ultimately decided to use another midfielder to start the game. David has only played with PSG on the field a handful of times since he signed on with the team back in January, but that hasn't stopped his family from coming to visit him and his new team. Victoria Beckham traveled down to the City of Light to see David's PSG debut back in late February, but she has stayed in London ever since. However, she may make another trip across the Channel, as David and his team will have their fair share of matches in the Champions League.

David Beckham Confirms "That's My Bum" in His Shirtless H&M Ads

David Beckham had a busy afternoon with Adidas yesterday. He linked up with French soccer legend Zinedine Zidane, who many across the world know from his infamous World Cup headbutt in 2006, for a photocall and autograph-signing session at the Adidas Performance store on Paris's Champs-Élysées. The day of promoting came after a busy week of soccer playing with Paris Saint-Germain. David made his debut with the team on Sunday, and then on Wednesday helped lead them to a second win. David's wife, Victoria Beckham, was in Paris to watch his weekend game, but has since returned to London to be with their four children.

David wrapped up last night with a stop by the French TV show Le Grand Journal. In addition to speaking about his soccer work in France, David touched on his shirtless H&M ads. He refuted rumors that he used a body double for shots of his derriere in the campaign. He told the show's hosts, "No, I can say the crotch is mine and the backside is mine as well. I heard this the other day. Someone said that I had a stand-in for my bum, but no, I can confirm that's my bum."

Happy Thursday everyone. If your day wasn't starting off the way you'd hoped, here's a little video that is sure to turn your frown upside down.

Happy Thursday everyone. If your day wasn't starting off the way you'd hoped, here's a little video that is sure to turn your frown upside down. Shot by Guy Ritchie, who erm, only takes on one commercial per year, David Beckham is spotted running around in his skivvies — and for part of it, he's soaking wet!

The commercial is much longer than it was intended to be, in fact, triple the length, not that any of us mind, and Mr. Posh is seen running through the streets of Beverly Hills, swimming in pools, hopping over hedges chasing the bathrobe that got caught in the car door whilst he was packing up the kids in the car for their school run. The inspiration behind the video was a superhero theme and I can attest that David definitely looks super. He said "I hope everyone has as much fun watching the film as I had making it." The undies come in a range of dark colours like red, navy and green and are part of the Spring 2013 campaign. Will you be buying them for the special superhero male in your life?
