Sometimes when a director and actor meet, it's a match made in movie heaven — so why wouldn't they team up again? Pairings like Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have held on to partnerships for years, creating scores of wonderful films. These are the relationships I want to celebrate: that particular kinship between a filmmaker and a muse. Take a look through to see some of my all-time favorite duos.
The Academy Awards are less than five days away and we're counting down with a look back at some winning moments. Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington teamed up last night for their NYC premiere of Safe House. Denzel posed on the red carpet with his wife Pauletta, though Ryan's real-life leading lady, Blake Lively, sat the event out. A pregnant Molly Sims stepped out for the screening, showing off her baby bump alongside husband Scott Stuber. There has been lots of time for Ryan and Denzel to bond over the last few weeks as they promoted the film. They even took a quick trip to Spain, where they had a photocall and a fun visit to the set of El Hormiguero. Ryan and Denzel filmed the picture last Spring and Summer in South Africa. They'll see if all the hard work pays off when the movie hits theaters this Friday on Feb. 10.
Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds continued their Safe House promotional tour yesterday with a stop by Spanish television's El Hormiguero. The variety show has hosted a wide range of A-list celebrities over the years, including Jennifer Aniston and Tom Cruise. The program gets the stars involved in puppet shows, magic tricks and science experiments. For his part, Denzel joined in the fun by attempting a complicated pool shot while Ryan tried to pull off an optical illusion.
The guys are charming their way across Europe and are scheduled to blitz NYC next week with appearances on The Late Show and Live With Kelly. Their stop in the Big Apple might give Ryan a chance to catch up with girlfriend Blake Lively, who is back to work on the set of Gossip Girl. Things seems to be going well for the couple while Ryan and ex Scarlett Johansson listed their LA home for $3.65 million earlier this week. Ryan and Scarlett shared the Los Feliz ranch during their marriage, but both have since moved on to other properties. She's also been spotted holding hands with new boyfriend Nate Naylor on the East Coast.
Ryan Reynolds joined Denzel Washington and Safe House director Daniel Espinosa for a photocall in Madrid today. The trio are kicking off their international press tour from Spain before making their way back to the States. Ryan and Denzel shot the CIA thriller in South Africa last year, and since then, Ryan's sparked up a romance with his former Green Lantern costar Blake Lively.
Blake and Ryan spent Thanksgiving together at her sister's Park City, UT bed and breakfast, Johnson Mill Bed & Breakfast, and then celebrated Christmas with his family in Vancouver. The couple were recently spotted on a romantic getaway to Louisiana where Blake and Ryan explored New Orleans on foot. Last night, Blake's 100th episode of Gossip Girl aired and it seems fans are one step closer to discovering Gossip Girl's true identity — get all the OMG moments from Blair's royal wedding including Georgina's return and Serena's big confession.
Denzel Washington and David Beckham laughed together as they watched the Lakers play the Houston Rockets in LA yesterday. Other famous faces in the crowd included Jaden Smith, Kevin Connolly, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Justin Bieber, whose concert the Beckhams attended the night before. While the men enjoyed the game, Victoria was a lady in red at Maria Shriver's Women's Conference in Long Beach alongside Michelle Obama, Jessica Simpson, and Oprah Winfrey. The family look set to stay in the US, as David has ruled out a loan move and the possibility of buying out the final year of his deal with the club, by saying: "I'm going to be in Los Angeles for the rest of my contract. We're all happy here."

Stars of the stage were honoured at the Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in NYC last night. Catherine Zeta-Jones received the Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical award for A Little Night Music, topping off her exciting weekend following her CBE from the Queen. Her fellow British nominee Jude Law missed out on an award, and skipped the show in favour of a holiday in France with Sienna Miller and his kids. Daniel Radcliffe and Helen Mirren attended the ceremony, as did Cate Blanchett: do you love or hate her look?
Beyonce and Jay-Z were in the audience after their trip to the UK for the Isle of Wight Festival. Will Smith and Jada took to the stage to present an award, and and Katie Holmes gave Scarlett Johansson her gong for A View From the Bridge. Scarlett's costar Liev Schrieber watched her win alongside Naomi Watts. Glee's Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele performed for the crowd, and Denzel Washington was also honoured with an acting award.
San Diego played host to Comic-Con over the past few days, where fans got up close and personal with their favourite stars. We've already seen Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart attending the Twilight event, but who else was there? Buzz has all the gossip as she was lucky enough to attend some of the events, but here's a selection of the celebs that were there in part one of my Comic-Con catch up!
London is teaming with megastars at the moment, as several celebrities are here to help mark Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday. Leona Lewis (do you love or hate her green eyeshadow?), Will Smith, the Sugababes and Annie Lennox were amongst those who gathered at the Intercontinental Hotel yesterday for a photo shoot, which created the most amazing school photo style picture I've ever seen! Even more stars attended the lavish banquet on Wednesday night, and we can expect yet more big names at the 46664 concert in Hyde Park tonight. Amy Winehouse is being tipped to perform a version of Free Nelson Mandela with its composer Jerry Dammers, ahead of her Glastonbury performance tomorrow as part of Jay-Z's supergroup.
Will Smith, Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker are making the most of their stay in London, enjoying a night out with their wives. We're thrilled to have you all here!

Stars from both sides of the Atlantic joined Nelson Mandela in Hyde Park yesterday to celebrate his 90th birthday. Gordon Ramsay prepared the banquet for the 500 guests, which included those due to perform at tomorrow's concert, with Leona Lewis, Annie Lennox and the Sugababes all stunning in bright colours. Although Amy Winehouse wasn't there her spokesman has said "it seems likely" she will perform on the night. Naomi Campbell, however, won't be joining them. She was on a list of potential celebrities to be asked to introduce acts, but will not appear on stage following her arrest at Heathrow (when she was wearing a cap with Nelson's prison number 46664). Naomi's spokeswoman said: "She was never planning to go to the concert". The man himself charmed the Queen earlier in the day and last night was congratulated on his milestone birthday by Gordon Brown and Bill Clinton.
