Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are expecting their first child! The couple, who wed in Italy in 2010, is reportedly expected to give birth in just a few months' time, but there are little details about the future addition to the Krasinski family. Emily and John both looked happy when they last stepped out together in June to attend the American Institute for Stuttering's seventh annual Freeing Voices, Changing Lives benefit in NYC. Emily also made a stop at the CFDA Awards in the Big Apple but didn't show signs of a growing baby bump. Congratulations to the happy couple!
Last Monday night's CFDA Awards set the celebrity style bar high. Even if the rest of the week's events were (by comparison) a more routine series of premieres and parties, looks from Nicole Richie, Emily Blunt, and Lily Aldridge proved just as noteworthy. For the sleekest kind of eventwear, Nicole supplied a cool white and black combo. For something in the more glamorous vein, turn to Emily in princess-worthy Zac Posen, and if you're seeking something a little more low-key, Lily had the prettiest kind of white dress to inspire your Summer style. It's all inside with the rest of this week's top 10.
Emily Blunt was one popular woman last night at the American Institute for Stuttering's seventh annual Freeing Voices, Changing Lives benefit gala in NYC. She stunned in a midnight-blue Zac Posen gown while walking the red carpet with her husband, John Krasinski, but also stopped to cuddle up to the likes of Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Stossel before heading into the Tribeca Rooftop.
Although Emily worked the carpet, Samuel was the guest of honor, commended by the organization for his success in the film industry despite a childhood struggle with stuttering. Serving as emcee for the event, Emily has also opened up about overcoming her stutter in the past, crediting her acting career for her fearless ability to speak today. The actress serves on the AIS's board of directors and has been a speech advocate for five years. Emily may be putting her voice on further display since she is also in finals talks to join Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep in Disney's upcoming musical Into the Woods.
Tonight's Met Gala was all about punk, and many of Hollywood's sweetest celebrities jumped at the chance to amp up the edge on the red carpet. While we expected stars like Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry to embrace their rock chick roots, seeing celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Taylor Swift, and Allison Williams go for more daring ensembles was fun to watch play out at the bash. Anne went platinum blond, Dakota Fanning showed off serious skin, Allison got into a goth mood, and Ginnifer Goodwin sported dramatic eye makeup for the night. Click through to see these stars and many more good girls get into the punk spirit at the 2013 Met Gala, and make sure to check out all the ladies on the Met Gala red carpet!
Emily Blunt brought her A-game to the 2013 Met Gala in NYC tonight when she arrived wearing a Carolina Herrera gown alongside husband John Krasinski. The couple weren't in town just to attend the fashionable bash — John is currently on the East Coast promoting the final episode of The Office, which airs May 16. Emily displayed a slightly blonder 'do, which she got when she hit up a hair salon in Beverly Hills with friend Drew Barrymore last week. Don't miss out on your chance to sound off on Emily's fashion choice in our 2013 Met Gala red carpet polls.
Jay Leno had double the fun on The Tonight Show in LA yesterday when both Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise stopped by. Emily was there to chat about her film with Colin Firth, Arthur Newman, which hits theaters in limited release tomorrow, while Tom talked up Oblivion. They'll be back together on the promotional trail next year, since they have All You Need Is Kill coming out in 2014. Until then, Emily had only good things to say about Tom, whom she called "instantly popular," and stuck around to show her support during his interview with Jay. Tom rattled off some of his most famous movie lines from Risky Business and others and also shared the story of getting his first motorcycle. Watch a clip of the fun when you click into the gallery!
Emily Blunt and Colin Firth got together on the red carpet in LA last night for the premiere of their film Arthur Newman, which hits theaters in limited release next week. They were joined by their costar Anne Heche, who had her partner, James Tupper, by her side, as well as Emily's man, John Krasinski. The celebration continued with an afterparty, where John and Emily mingled with John's The Office castmate Kate Flannery. John has a little time on his hands to support his wife since he's wrapped filming on the final season of The Office and his next project, Monsters University, doesn't come out until June. He and Emily took advantage of the break to travel to the Caribbean for pal Matt Damon's vow renewal celebration last weekend. They landed at LAX on Wednesday night showing PDA and their fresh-from-vacation tans.
Emily Blunt rocks a bold look on the cover of the May issue of InStyle, which is available on newsstands this Friday, April 19. She's prepping for a big month with the April release of Arthur Newman with Colin Firth. Next year will see another large project, All You Need Is Kill with Tom Cruise, hitting theaters. At the moment, Emily's enjoying downtime with her husband, John Krasinski, and their friends — John and Emily were guests of the Damons over the weekend, attending Matt and Luciana's wedding vow renewal in St. Lucia.
In the magazine, Emily talked about being happy at age 30, not getting too invested in Hollywood, and her marriage to John. Here are highlights from Emily in InStyle — and also check out how Emily's look has changed over the years!
- On marriage: "Meeting John really changed my life. When I feel the support that I have from him, I feel invincible. There's someone behind you on your good days, and someone in front of you on your bad days."
- On keeping her distance from Hollywood: "I see Hollywood as a bubble that you pop your head into every now and again. I never get fully immersed in it."
- On starring with Tom Cruise in All You Need Is Kill: "It's my first action movie. I wouldn't want any other initiation than with Tom Cruise allowing me to kick his butt."
- On being 30: "Thirty sounds appropriate to me. I feel I haven't anything to prove anymore, so I'm excited. I'm ready for what's next."
