Autumn is officially here, which means the deeper hues are coming out of makeup bags. Don't believe us? Three separate celebrities were seen sporting varying shades of purple across their lips over the last few days. Emma Watson opted for a berry hue, while Kim Kardashian swept a deep wine shade across her lips. Princess Charlene of Monaco went for an edgy shade of bright grape at Paris Fashion Week. All three were different, but completely gorgeous. Whose did you like best?
Sandra Bullock and George Clooney have been all over the globe to promote their new, intense film, Gravity — this time showing up in NYC. The famous costars started their promotional tour by joking together at Comic-Con back in July, then kicked off the Venice International Film Festival in August. Then, Sandra single-handedly took Canada by storm when she swept through the Toronto International Film Festival. For tonight's premiere in New York, Sandra and George were joined by the ever fabulous Emma Watson and Katie Holmes.
Sandra seems to be everywhere at once these days. After her international domination, she stopped into Hollywood for her hand- and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre. And with her October cover of Vogue, she's even in print! For now, though, let's head over to NY and see the star-studded pics from the premiere.
Child star, this Harry Potter actress is not! In her cover story for the latest installment of Net-A-Porter's The Edit, Emma Watson models the eco-friendly designs of Green Carpet Challenge labels including Christopher Kane, Roland Mouret, and Alexander McQueen. Speaking with Livia Firth on the conflict between sustainability and style, the actress admits, "I would love to wear garments that are ethically sourced, but there aren't enough options for me to be able to do that realistically."
Fortunately, the options were plentiful for Emma's sophisticated shoot. And though she looks at ease, don't let her poise fool you: "On the red carpet, I'm usually in so much discomfort — my shoes are uncomfortable, I can't breathe in the dress. I don't compromise like that in my everyday style." And that refreshing confession is just one of the many sides she shows!
Earlier this month, we revealed that Cheryl Cole is the celebrity British women would most like to look like. Now, only weeks later, poor old Cheryl is yesterday's news as a new survey has crowned a completely different star as the Iconic British Beauty of the Decade — Emma Watson. The actress and Lancome model beat out Jessica Ennis and Michelle Keegan for the honour . . . with Cheryl's name nowhere to be seen. How fickle we beauty fans are!
The survey of 2,000 people celebrated all things British and was commissioned by homegrown beauty brand St. Moriz (a longterm favourite of beauty bloggers, YouTube gurus, and bargain hunters) to mark the fact their products are finally hitting Boots stores. You can now buy all their tanning favourites, including the bestselling Self Tan Mousse (£5) in store and online.
Some of the most handsome men in the world gathered up in London last night for the annual GQ Men of the Year Awards. Top honorees included designer Tom Ford, who was given his spiffy trophy by none other than pal Justin Timberlake; Emma Watson, who showed off her midriff while chatting with Tom Hiddleston; and Dan Stevens, who had a mini Downton Abbey reunion with former costar Laura Carmichael (aka Lady Edith) while chatting with friend Eddie Redmayne and his girlfriend, Hannah Bagshawe. Meanwhile, Justin's buddy Pharrell Williams played the social butterfly while mingling between Russell Brand, Samuel L. Jackson, Rosie Hungtington-Whiteley, and Elton John. The bash wasn't a good night for plus ones as Justin's wife, Jessica Biel, stayed home and Suki Waterhouse took a solo trip down the red carpet without her handsome man, Bradley Cooper.
There are crop tops and then there are crop tops — we think it's safe to assume that Emma Watson wore the latter at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London. For the occasion, the actress bared her belly in an ivory silk bolero crop top and high-waisted trousers, finished with black sequined peep-toe heels, all by Balenciaga. By now we're used to seeing celebrities rocking crop tops, so this look isn't entirely shocking, but Emma definitely takes the prize for showing the most skin. So now that you've seen the star's more daring side, tell us — did it work?
British beauty Emma Watson bared her belly in a head-to-toe Balenciaga ensemble at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London today and joined fellow stylish celebs like Nicole Richie, Lily Collins, and Diane Kruger, who have all taken on the '90s crop top trend this season. This is the first time we've seen Emma hit the red carpet since she attended the NYC premiere of The Bling Ring in June, and she chose a decidedly more daring look than we're used to seeing from her.
Emma is back in her native England after spending time in the Big Apple last month. She showed off her bookish spirit in a bright blue Great Gatsby sweatshirt while running errands in NYC and also made a stop at the Vogue offices downtown. Emma's next project is Darren Aronofsky's fantasy drama Noah, which she stars in alongside Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins, and Logan Lerman.

If you plan on laying on the beach in August, you're in luck — the glossy fashion magazine covers due out next month promise lots of beautiful things to look at, and lots of fun articles to read, too.
Case in point: Michelle Dockery of Downton Abbey fame looks stunning on the cover of Harper's Bazaar UK, and in the coordinating interview she talks about her "love affair" with being on the show. Freja Beha Erichsen's cover of British Vogue promises a look inside the "glamour, galas, and glitz" of Roberto Cavalli's world. And Teen Vogue — which features Emma Watson on the cover — takes a look inside Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's fashion empire.
Take a look at those covers here in the gallery, and keep checking back for more of August's best magazine images.
Emma Watson just revealed to VogueUK in a shocking confessional that she owns eight pairs of shoes. Yes, it's true, I had to read it several times myself to believe it. The fashion maven feels satisfied with her collection. However, let's be straight here, it's not everyone that has the privaledge of borrowing clothing and accessories for red carpet apperances or events, so it's not as though she only rotates the eight pairs of footwear soley (no pun inteneded). But Emma certainly has a lot to say on the matter.
In the interview, she also discussed her new film, The Bling Ring and added, "It's almost like consumerism as a form of kleptomania. I've got about eight pairs of shoes and that's it. But it's easy for me to sound like a total hypocrite because, of course, I'm dressed in designer clothes right now." And when it comes to Paris Hilton's closet where some of the filming for the movie took place, she adds, "She could never wear all of those clothes and half of them were brand new and still had the price tag on. But I suppose she just bought them to have them. We've all bought things on impulse, but that's an entirely different thing."
In any event, I am curious to find out how many pairs of shoes you own. Leave a comment below to let me know!
