Empire Records Cast: Where Are They Now?

The music-store comedy Empire Records is one of the most memorable (and quotable) movies of the '90s. The cult classic starred a lot of young actors who went on to star in blockbusters and TV shows, but have you kept up with all the employees of the store? Click through to find out what all the actors are doing now, what they look like, and — just for fun — what their characters might be up to now, almost 20 years later.

Pop Classic: Empire Records

I knew I had the basis of my first Pop Classic when FabUK posted her Back To Cool article, featuring the style of Liv Tyler playing Corey in the 1995 film Empire Records.

I knew I had the basis of my first Pop Classic when FabUK posted her Back To Cool article, featuring the style of Liv Tyler playing Corey in the 1995 film Empire Records. This movie has been a firm favourite of mine since I rented it out on VHS years ago, without a clue who the actors were. At the time, all I saw were a bunch of weird kids working in a cool record store, and I loved it. As everything 90s is back right now — as seen in The Wackness, a resurgence of plaid shirts and the return of Take That, among other things — I really don't think there's any better time to look back at this film!

The cast is made up of a bunch of well-known and familiar faces, including Liv Tyler as Corey, Renee Zellweger as wild child Gina, Rory Cochrane as oddball Lucas, Ethan Embry as supersweet Mark, Anthony LaPaglia as store manager Joe, Robin Tunney as troubled Debra and gorgeous Johnny Whitworth as artist AJ.

Back to Cool: Empire Records With the current '90s grunge revival comes Dr Martens, tartan skirts and big knitted jumpers. When I see this look I can't help but think of classic '90s movie Empire Records starring Liv Tyler as Corey. There's a lot of tartan around at the moment following it appearance on the catwalk at D&G and House of Holland. FabUK has a way to copy her style!

Corey is a bit clueless but adored by the oh-so-cute A.J. even though she's lusting after rock star Rex Manning. I like Corey's cute take on grunge with tiny kilt and fluffy cropped jumper.
