Eva Longoria Releases a Statement About Her Divorce from Tony Parker

Update: Eva twittered the following statement, "It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other’s happiness."

Eva Longoria is "devastated" but "strong" in the wake of her split with husband Tony Parker, according to her longtime best friend and Extra host, Mario Lopez. He confirmed that he spoke with Eva, who made it official by filing for divorce, seeking spousal support, and requesting that her name be returned to Eva Jacqueline Longoria from her married Eva Longoria Parker.

She told Lopez that she found "hundreds of text messages" from the wife of one of his NBA teammates, reportedly identified as Erin Barry who is going through her own divorce from fellow Spurs player Brent. There are rumours of more women who he's been keeping in touch with via Facebook. Eva has cancelled her scheduled appearance at this Sunday's American Music Awards.

So #13 anyone who dislikes Eva must be the same person because there is only one person who reads celebrity sites who dislikes her? One could argue that only someone protecting Longoria (friend, person on the payroll) would try to minimize the level of dislike by insisting it's all only from one person. Glamorme I think the point is that she likes to kick other people when they are down, but now expects us to feel bad for her. To give you an update on Eva's work, she has made an entire career out of exploiting this marriage. She sold exclusive rights to the wedding, took the press with her on their honeymoon, talked endlessly about their 'amazing' sex life, and threatened lawsuits against anyone who claimed he was a cheater, even though the first woman who made this claim said it happened on their wedding day, a claim that came with text messages. Eva has spent the last twenty-four hours milking every last drop of PR she can get out of it. She's been working TMZ, People Mag and Us Weekly, not to mention twitter and her appearance on Extra just hours after she filed for divorce. I don't think even Eva feels bad about the cheating as it is now providing her with the opportunity to land on the covers of the tabloids, an accomplishment that has eluded her many, many times over the years. Not to mention that she had her own cheating rumors a few years ago with Mario Lopez, where she came dangerously close to admitting that something might have happened. Maybe her husband didn't take that so well. When you cheat you deserve to be cheated on. So you don't need to be an Aniston butt kisser to think this woman is a complete jerk.

I've never had the pleasure of seeing any of Eva's work so I don't have much of an opinion on the woman; but are people seriously suggesting that wearing a shirt with a rude quote is deserving of having your husband be unfaithful? That's harsh, even if your a Jennifer Aniston butt kisser. I feel bad for Eva, if the rumors are true and I'm deeply sadden that yet another marriage goes up in smokes. sad.

Considering how quickly she is spinning this story and the fact that she is now sending out her friends to discuss really personal matters, I have a hard time feeling sorry for her. Why does EVERYTHING in this woman's life have to come with PR? If I were Tony, I'd come out and say "I just got tired of being used for PR, every moment of our lives together was an opportunity for her to get her picture in the paper so I started looking elsewhere."
