Eva Mendes showed off a Spring look in lace Valentino at the launch of Vogue Eyewear's new campaign at Simon House in Beverly Hills yesterday. She's the face of the brand and posed in different spectacles for Mario Testino in its latest ads. Eva's back on the West Coast after spending a few days in NYC, where she took care of press interviews for The Place Beyond the Pines with boyfriend and costar Ryan Gosling over the weekend. Before heading home, though, Eva stopped by SoHo's Kiki de Montparnasse lingerie store and left with a bag containing a fake skull.

Bradley Cooper arrived on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival this evening to premiere The Place Beyond the Pines. Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, in Dolce & Gabbana, followed behind, but were late to the screening after getting stuck in traffic. They had time to stop for photos on their way in though, and posed with Bradley and the rest of the cast. Jennifer Lawrence, who stars with Bradley in The Silver Linings Playbook, was also on hand to celebrate the big night. Ryan worked on the Derek Cianfrance-directed project last Summer in Upstate New York with his costars Eva and Bradley. This Summer, Ryan's been hard at work as well, taking care of reshoots for The Gangster Squad.
There's already been plenty of stars at TIFF, so make sure to check out what's already gone down while we bring you the latest on the scene at the film festival.
Erdem Moralioglu, the Canadian-born, 35 year old clothing designer has had skyrocketing success in the London fashion scene over the past few years. He can attest his love, and his move to the UK 12 years ago to his British mum and extended family whom he often visited growing up. After studying at RCA, he moved to New York city to work with Diane Von Furstenberg, where soon after, he won a Fashion Fringe competition. However, it wasn't until 2006 when Claudia Schiffer wore one of his dresses to the Bafta Awards, that people really started to take notice.
After this mention, he has only grown in reputation and acheivement culminating in a massive superstar following. Two years ago, he even won the inaugural BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund Award and you can see a handful of English and American celebrities (even the Royal Duchess of Cambridge) wearing his designs here. Take a peek through my slideshow and let me know which dress you like best.
Eva Mendes on Feeling "Creatively Satisfied" With Ryan Gosling, Her Insecurities, and More in Marie Claire
Eva Mendes looks glamorous in a jeweled top on the cover of Marie Claire's March issue. The actress has been busy with multiple projects, including Girl in Progress, which hits theaters in April, and Holly Motors, though much of her headline making is due to boyfriend Ryan Gosling. The duo worked together on The Place Beyond the Pines last year and have been spotted sharing romantic dates in Paris, Disneyland, and around LA since. Eva touched on working with Ryan, her own insecurities, and how she gets her glowing skin. Here's more from Eva Mendes in Marie Claire:
- On working with Ryan Gosling: "He’s your dream costar. I have never felt so creatively satisfied on a film."
- On her diet and workout routine: "I run four to five times a week, mixing it up among distance running, intervals on a track, and running uphill on a treadmill. I don't eat meat and stopped eating chicken — my skin has gotten a lot better."
- On her body image: "What I tell girls is what they don’t like about themselves now, they will probably end up loving as an adult, because that’s what happened to me. When I am complimented on things that I didn’t like when I was 13, like my overbite and my mole, that’s when you realize that your imperfections are why people love you."
If you're a fan of Funny or Die's Drunk History series, then I've got a Christmas treat for you! Ryan Gosling is starring in this latest holiday version of Drunk History, and this time, they're taking on the festive poem "'Twas the Night Before Christmas." Gosling plays the man who's woken up by Old St. Nick on Christmas Eve, and joining him in the goofy video are Eva Mendes and Jim Carrey (in a very important role). Get your dose of holiday Gosling now!
Ashley Greene, Minka Kelly, Freida Pinto, and Emma Roberts were just some of the lovely ladies who stepped out for Salvatore Ferragamo's resort show in NYC last night. Ashley was fresh off a flight from LA, where she's been a regular at the gym, and looked gorgeous in a white dress, while Emma chose a darker velvet number, all from Salvatore Ferragamo. Minka showed off her legs in a black look following her 31st birthday celebrations last week. She'll soon get back to work on her primetime series for ABC, Charlie's Angels, and is headed to boot camp before filming starts. Also on hand for the event were Eva Mendes and Australian actress Teresa Palmer, who was spotted getting cozy on a walk with Scott Speedman earlier in the day. The fashionable attendees took front-row seats to check out the collection, which they all later raved about on Twitter.
Naomi Watts and Eva Mendes were together in NYC last night to attend a bash thrown by Thierry Mugler. Former face of the brand's Angel fragrance Naomi was there to celebrate the title being passed to Eva, who stars in the latest ads. Eva sparkled on the pale blue carpet in a dress from Mugler's creative director and close Lady Gaga pal Nicola Formichetti. Naomi's moved on to a beauty contract with Pantene, and we recently got her Summer beauty tips at another Big Apple event. Eva Mendes's new campaign with Thierry Mugler was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, and the accompanying TV spot will even feature her singing! Eva spoke yesterday about all the hard work that goes into making her look so fantastic for Mugler, saying she more thinks of herself as cute. Eva Mendes said of her looks, "I'd rather be on team cute because I think it's harder to be cute. I think when a guy pays me that compliment of being cute or adorable that feels like a real compliment . . . because being hot I think is all smoke and mirrors. I mean at a certain point! I think it takes more personality to be cute so I think it's more of a deeper compliment."
The men who came out to watch last night's Spike TV Guys Choice Awards on the Sony lot in Culver City were treated to some very sexy eye candy on the red carpet. Scarlett Johansson wore a flirty one-shoulder Valentino dress as she headed in to present with her The Avengers costar Chris Evans. Mila Kunis was honored with the Holy Grail of Hotness mantlers statue, and she kept both her acceptance speech and her cute Givenchy short and sweet. Eva Mendes kept more covered up in her long gown, and Minka Kelly was a standout in bright blue before taking the stage with her fellow Charlie's Angels reboot cast member. Justin Timberlake and the men of Horrible Bosses also posed for cameras on their way in. The event was all about stuff guys love, and the hot women were happy to turn on their sex appeal for the crowd, which included a large group of US Armed Forces men and women. Jennifer Aniston was also awarded for her hotness, but she skipped the carpet and instead revealed her LBD while accepting her honors. The Guys Choice won't air until June 10, but this isn't the only big show this weekend — the MTV Movie Awards are tonight and we'll be streaming LIVE from the red carpet!
Armie Hammer, Hailee Steinfeld, Garrett Hedlund, and Elle Fanning Win Big at the Young Hollywood Awards
Hollywood's up-and-coming talent came together Friday night at LA's Club Nokia for the 13th annual Young Hollywood Awards. The new face of Miu Miu, Hailee Steinfeld, stepped out in a black and white ensemble from the brand to accept the breakthrough of the year honor from her True Grit costar Jeff Bridges. More statues went out to Style Icon Camilla Belle, in a Tom Ford suit, and Star of Tomorrow Armie Hammer, who caught up with his hilarious Parks and Recreation star pal Aziz Ansari. Camilla stuck close by her supposed real-life leading man, Topher Grace. Grey's Anatomy's Jesse Williams was crowned TV actor of the year, while Elle Fanning had her Somewhere director Sofia Coppola's dad, Francis, on hand to witness her film actress of the year honor. Garrett Hedlund had Midnight in Paris star Michael Sheen on hand to pass on the film actor of the year distinction, and the awardees kept the good times rolling afterward with a party. The whole show airs Thursday night on the ION channel.
