Some guys get free passes to fool around in the movies, but in Last Night, infidelity takes a more secretive (and realistic?) turn. Keira Knightley and Sam Worthington star as Joanna and Michael, a married couple who have a spat one night over Michael's attractive new coworker (Eva Mendes). Joanna gets jealous, and to make matters worse, Michael embarks on a business trip with his hot associate in tow. While he's away, Joanna bumps into an ex (Guillaume Canet), and the two rekindle the old spark. But will intrigue be enough to make Joanna or Michael cheat?

The film seems a bit like a watered-down version of Closer, with one lingering, will-they-or-won't-they look after another. I'm just hoping that the slow-burning chemistry makes the film suspenseful instead of a snooze fest. Watch the trailer and tell me your verdict when you read more

Keira Knightley cosied up to her Last Night costar Eva Mendes at the Rome Film Festival yesterday. Protestors working in the film industry caused the women to avoid the red carpet as they arrived, and Last Night's director said that they supported the workers' protests. Guillaume Canet represented the males of the cast, as Sam Worthington was not there. Keira appeared at the London Film Festival, and will be back in the city in the West End to star opposite Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss. Keira's said to be frontrunner to play Princess Diana, but a rival movie is rumoured to be casting Charlize Theron in the role.

Jessica Biel and Eva Mendes debuted their directorial efforts at Glamour's Reel Moments event last night. The ladies looked gorgeous — Jessica wore a black lace dress by Oscar de la Renta, while Eva wore a cream gown by Lela Rose. Previous participant Demi Moore supported them and showed some skin in a low cut striped blouse and black leather trousers. Demi's been in Israel with Ashton Kutcher, while Rachel Weisz — who also directed a short for this year's event —was unable to attend.

AnnaLynne McCord, Katie Holmes and Jennifer Garner posed pretty at Variety's Power Of Women Luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel in LA yesterday. Katie's back in the US following her trip to Prague with Tom Cruise. Jennifer was free to fly to the West Coast now filming on Arthur in NYC has wrapped up. Both actresses raised awareness of their philanthropic missions — Katie was there for her arts education organization Dizzy Feet Foundation, and Jen attnded with a representative of Save the Children, a charity close to her heart. AnnaLynne went for a smart ensemble, while her boyfriend Kellan Lutz was across town flexing his muscles. Amy Adams, Eva Mendes and Anne Hathaway were also there.

A whole host of animal-loving celebrities came together last night for PETA's 30th Anniversary Gala and Humanitarian Awards in LA. The charity honoured various stars, and winners included Lea Michele, Kellan Lutz, Eva Mendes, Eli Roth, Olivia Munn, Anjelica Huston, and Dave Navarro. Joaquin Phoenix also attended after appearing on Letterman last week, and his I'm Still Here partner in crime Casey Affleck was at the gala too, as was Kelly Osbourne.

Sam Worthington posed with his girlfriend, Natalie Mark, and his costar Eva Mendes at the premiere of Last Night at Toronto Film Festival on Saturday. Keira Knightley also stars in the film which closed TIFF, but couldn't make it to Canada as she's been busy filming ads in Paris. Eva was in Europe last week, for the The Other Guys' UK premiere in London, and Sam was in Italy over the Summer for a shirtless PDA-filled holiday with Natalie.

London's Leicester Square played host to Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and Eva Mendes at The Other Guys UK premiere last night. The cast signed autographs for waiting fans despite the rainy weather, and were joined by celebs like Brian Dowling at the screening and afterparty at Chinawhite. Check out some footage from the premiere after the jump! Eva wore a gorgeous green dress on the blue carpet, while Mark said only Eva would get him back in his undies for a Calvin Klein ad campaign. Will said Eva stalked him after they finished filming, although there was no word on how his marriage to Mark is going.
