Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I've seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall a handful of times now, and after each viewing I love it a little bit more — so you can be sure that I'm going to recommend this DVD (out today) highly!

I think your enjoyment of this movie will partly depend on whether you're in the camp that love Russell Brand (or are fairly indifferent), or the camp that hate him with a vengeance. I'm in the former, so his part in this film is a highlight for me — he plays English rock star Aldous Snow, the man that Peter Bretter (Jason Segel) has lost his TV star girlfriend to.

Segel was one of the most likable characters in the original Apatow-produced TV series Freaks and Geeks and he continues that tradition in this film — he's all lanky, goofy, lovable charm. He wrote the movie, and really puts himself out there both physically and emotionally. The naked break-up scene between Peter and Sarah? That actually happened to him, so he put it in the movie — full frontal shots and all!

Russell Brand is quite the jet-setter, swapping LA for New York and an appearance on TRL with his Forgetting Sarah Marshall co-stars last night. The American stars talked about nudity and penises, but not one to be outdone Russell brought the subject round to orgasms. The audience seemed to love Russell as much as we do, cracking up when he claimed he was looking for a wife with type O blood. Our long haired lovely even got to host a portion of the show himself — we've got a clip of it after the jump.

The lovely Russell Brand and his gorgeous Forgetting Sarah Marshall co-star Kristen Bell made their separate ways through LAX Airport yesterday, looking relaxed in their comfy plane clothes. Kristen looks great whether she's dressed-down or in red carpet mode, and Russell swapped his usual pointy boots for laid-back flip flops. He did bring a touch of glamour to his outfit though, with those starry shades and that cross necklace he wore to Thursday night's LA premiere. These co-stars are co-stunning!

All us Britain-based Russell fans don't have long to wait now to see the lovely man on the big screen, as the film is released in the UK on 25th April. Siting.

Russell Brand loves his Mum. He introduced her to Jay Leno earlier this week, and last night he took her to the LA premiere of Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Doesn't she look proud of him?! Following his win at the British Book Awards, a Sony Radio award nomination, and his upcoming single release (tied in with the movie) I think Russell has a lot to smile about. As you know, I was lucky enough to attend a preview of the movie at the beginning of March, and I really enjoyed it, especially Russell's performance and Jason Segel's singing.

Of course writer and actor Jason Segel was there along with producer Judd Apatow, and fellow FSM actors Jonah Hill, Kristen Bell, Paul Rudd and Mila Kunis. A couple of Mila's That 70s Show co-stars also showed up (Kurtwood Smith and Danny Masterson), and Jason's How I Met Your Mother castmates Alyson Hannigan (looking lovely!) and Neil Patrick Harris. No Britney though!
