Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith's After Earth premiere was a family affair in NYC last night. The father-son duo had the support of their loved ones Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, and Trey Smith for the star-studded debut. Along with having his siblings and parents, Jaden's rumored girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, also hit the red carpet, as did 50 Cent, Bruce Willis and his wife, Emma Heming, Spike Lee, and even astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Jaden's pal Justin Bieber skipped the red carpet, preferring instead to make a low-key entrance directly into the Zeigfeld Theater. While Jaden's close with Kylie Jenner and her Kardashian relatives, his dad, Will, doesn't appear to be a fan of Kim and company. When asked about the parallels between the Kardashians and the Smiths, Will said the families deal with the limelight differently. He commented, "We are trying to put great things into the world, we're trying to have fun, and we're trying to become the greatest versions of ourselves in the process of doing things we love. So the idea of fame or exploitation or orchestrating the media is sometimes even less than desirable for us."

Will Smith joined up with Jada Pinkett Smith at the premiere of Free Angela and All Political Prisoners in NYC yesterday. Jada and Will are executive producers of the new documentary, which follows the life of activist Angela Davis, and Jada has been promoting the upcoming flick all over the city this past week. She appeared on Good Morning America yesterday, where she talked about the process of getting on board with the film and a recent essay she had written about the public's attitude towards young celebrities. In another interview, Jada discussed the rumor that she has an open marriage with Will Smith. She said, "I've always told Will, 'You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay.' Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man. I'm here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that's not for me to do for him. Or vice versa."

Salma Hayek was in Long Beach, CA, yesterday to officially launch Chime For Change, a new charity initiative devised by Salma, Beyoncé Knowles, and Gucci, at a TEDxWomen event. Salma's husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, is the CEO of French luxury company PPR, which owns Gucci, and as such, is the driving force behind the project, which aims to raise funds and awareness to support projects by women around the world. Beyoncé was not able to attend yesterday, but Salma nonetheless posed for photos with other guests, including Jada Pinkett Smith.

Salma took the stage to speak about the project and introduce a short film that featured Beyoncé. In a press release announcing the endeavor, Beyoncé spoke about what Chime For Change means to her. She said, "I have always felt strongly about equal opportunity for women. Girls have to be taught from early on that they are strong and capable of being anything they want to be. It's up to us to change the statistics for women around the world. I'm honored to be in the company of women who live fearlessly and set an example for the next generation of young ladies."

NYC's Ziegfeld Theatre played host to the star-studded premiere of Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted last night. Jessica Chastain chose a vintage Yves Saint Laurent dress to hit the red carpet following the announcement that she's the new face of the brand's Manifesto fragrance. Ben Stiller and his wife, Christine Taylor, as well as Chris Rock and his family, posed for the cameras. Jada Pinkett Smith had the support of her husband, Will, and daughter, Willow, at the event, which comes after the animated movie's glamorous debut at the Cannes Film Festival last month. Salma Hayek was on hand for the French premiere, but she didn't make it to the latest press stop.

Madagascar 3 is in theaters today, and if the opening is anything like Men in Black 3's May release, the Pinkett-Smith clan will have another hit to their name. Will might also be topping the music charts again soon since he's remixing his 1990s hit, "Summertime," which will be available for download next week.

A whole range of celebrity guests turned out for the Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular in Chicago yesterday. It was a huge event, at the city's United Center, organized to tape the second- and third-to-last episodes of Oprah's long-running TV show that will air on May 23 and 24. The guest list ranged from performers like Alicia Keys and Beyoncé Knowles, singing her new single "Run the World (Girls)."Tom Hanks played host for the first of two hours of taping, and he introduced the show by saying, "Now Oprah, I know you don't like surprises. Let me see if I can put you at ease. There was an English playwright who said there's no surprise more magical than the surprise of being loved, and that is what tonight is all about." The second 60-minute segment was emceed by Will Smith, on a break from shooting Men in Black 3, and Jada Pinkett Smith. Oprah's 12-time guest Tom Cruise stepped onto the stage to the theme-tune from Mission Impossible, saying, "You always had the power [to change lives], and that is the lesson you brought."

Even Maria Shriver turned out despite the scandal brewing over her estranged husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the revelation he fathered a child outside their marriage 10 years ago. Maria made a heartfelt speech to Oprah, thanking her for the gifts of truth and wisdom. There were also 13,000 fans in the audience to see the proceedings — one guy apparently even proposed to his girlfriend before the festivities began! There were plenty of surprises in store, including a comedy set from Jerry Seinfeld. He had the crowd cracking up with quips like, "To be here at the United Center and not be at a Bulls Game!? This is like a dream a disoriented husband would tell a shrink: I was at a Bulls game packed with fans and somehow it all changed to the Oprah show." The shocks kept coming with tributes from Dakota Fanning, Halle Berry, Josh Groban, Rosie O'Donnell, Jamie Foxx, Usher, and a cameo from Oprah's long-term boyfriend Stedman Graham! Stedman spoke sweetly of his lady love, commenting, " I love you for making a difference in my life." All of the affection eventually got to Oprah, who broke down in tears. She wrapped things up by saying, "Thank you for taking me to a place that is beyond joyous — It feels like the rapture."
