Last night's 2012 Empire Awards in London brought out a range of good-looking, foreign men. Michael Fassbender picked up the best hero statue and posed for photos solo afterward. It was a guys-only night for the actor — Michael was without girlfriend Nicole Beharie, who was his costar in Shame. Michael's X-Men costar James McAvoy was also without the leading lady in his life, wife Anne-Marie Duff. James stopped to smile for a picture, though, with Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt. Other honorees included best actor Gary Oldman for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, best male newcomer Tom Hiddleston, and best sci-fi/fantasy Thor. The latter film's star Chris Hemsworth was on hand for the show, as was his costar Olivia Wilde. Chace Crawford suited up to join in on the fun as well.
X-Men: First Class costars Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy were more than happy to chat all about their film, as well as a few more personal topics, during a recent press day in NYC. The guys complimented each other's secret skills, and James even revealed one downside to being a world-renowned heartthrob. Michael, meanwhile, took off his cap to flaunt his new blond locks, though he admitted that his hair color allegiance is still with the "gingers" of the world. Check out the X-Men: First Class reviews and watch below!
The stars of X-Men: First Class rolled up to their premiere at NYC's Ziegfeld Theatre last night in a collection of vintage cars, perfect for the blockbuster set back in the '60s. Leading men Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy were dapper on the carpet following a long day of work at their press junket — stay tuned next week for our chat with the guys! January Jones covered up her baby bump in a blue and black Preen dress while Zoe Kravitz supported her longtime pal Alexander Wang in a gray velvet maxi. The cast was rounded out by Rose Byrne, Lucas Till, and Kevin Bacon, who fit a stop by The Late Show between afternoon interviews at the evening's screening. Rumored couple Zoe Kravitz and Michael Fassbender kept their distance on the carpet, posting with their many costars in between. The movie actually brought together another duo, since Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are apparently dating now, too! Jennifer and Nicholas, though, weren't able to attend yesterday's event. The X-Men family connections keep coming, with Zoe's dad Lenny now set to star in The Hunger Games with Jennifer.
Keira Knightley and James McAvoy teamed up in London last night at the Jameson Empire Awards. The actors were on hand for the annual celebration of British filmmaking, where a Rodarte-clad Keira was honored with the Hero award. Keira may be best known for her movie roles, but she has been focusing on her part in The Children's Hour and her role as the face of Coco Mademoiselle perfumes lately. She posed with fellow model Lily Cole on the red carpet yesterday before the ceremony. Lily smiled for the cameras despite a late Friday out at The Box with her rumored new guy, Jude Law. The pair, who dated previously, have been spotted getting cozy since his recent split from Sienna Miller.
As well as all the beautiful women, the BAFTA Awards brought lots of gorgeous guys to the Royal Opera House in London this evening. Gerard Butler, Nicholas Hoult, and James McAvoy were amongst the British actors who walked the red carpet. Rupert Grint posed solo, while Paul McCartney brought two guests. Several men entered the ceremony with their partner, including Aaron Johnson and Sam Taylor-Wood and The King's Speech couples Colin Firth and Livia Giuggioli plus Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton. Tim also posed with Christopher Lee inside, and Andrew Garfield and Jesse Eisenberg both represented The Social Network. After their time onstage, the stars at the BAFTAs made their way to the press room. The winners, including Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter, posed happily with their awards, while the presenters had photos taken too. Dominic Cooper and Rosamund Pike laughed off their autocue difficulty together, while The King's Speech cast and crew gathered together after the Best Film award was given out. Emma Watson and Rupert Grint represented Harry Potter, while two ex-Skins castmembers turned Hollywood stars attended — Dev Patel and Nicholas Hoult. Check out all the winners here, and click through to see all the photos from backstage!

Which part of the ceremony are you most excited about?
All I can say is: hell yeah! The X-Men: First Class trailer is finally here, and it's out to show all of the comic book films exactly how it's done. The prequel to the X-Men franchise follows the early days of Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) as they learn how to channel their powers (and before their abilities cause a rift between them). But they're obviously not alone in their fight; the preview also highlights a young Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), and Emma Frost (January Jones), along with the rest of the esteemed cast.
This trailer is everything a good trailer should be: suspenseful, sexy, and most importantly, it leaves me craving more. As much as I love the other X-Men movies, it's exciting to see a set of fresh faces taking on the mutants we've come to love (or love to hate). The movie hits on June 3, but take a look after the jump.
Bust out your stovepipe hat, because we're about to journey back to the time of Abraham Lincoln. Robert Redford's The Conspirator centers around the trials following the assassination of our 16th president, and in particular, the lone woman charged with taking part in his murder: Mary Surratt. Robin Wright plays the accused, while James McAvoy steps into the role of her lawyer. But perhaps Surratt was actually innocent? The film's trailer suggests that she was covering up for her guilty son in the ultimate act of motherly love.
Historical dramas often get a bum rap for being boring, but I'm already intrigued by this one. It looks like part courtroom drama, part thriller, with a stellar cast. Redford has pulled together a supporting ensemble featuring everyone under the sun, including Alexis Bledel, Evan Rachel Wood, Justin Long, Tom Wilkinson, and Kevin Kline. My only concern: Long's mustache. I'm sorry, but it's just ridiculous. Give it and the rest of the film a look after the jump.
Gnomeo and Juliet stars Emily Blunt and James McAvoy posed together on the blue carpet at the LA premiere last night. The gorgeous Brit stars take the title roles in the animated movie, which is produced by new parents Sir Elton John and David Furnish. James and Emily's costars include Patrick Stewart, Matt Lucas and Ashley Jensen and they all were present at the event, though Matt said that the photographers were calling him "Max". Guests included Gavin Rossdale and his son Zuma — check out the trailer!
