Stars came out to celebrate the opening of Rag & Bone's new flagship store in LA last night. Cameron Diaz posed with pal Reese Witherspoon on her way into the event, which also brought out Emma Roberts, Mandy Moore, and Kate Mara. It was Reese's first official red carpet since giving birth to son Tennessee James Toth in September. Reese has been all about the brand lately, wearing her Harrow booties and stocking up at the new shop on Thursday afternoon. Cameron, meanwhile, has been spending time with friends and met up with Gwyneth Paltrow for dinner on Monday and a group of ladies for lunch this Tuesday. Also on hand to toast the retail spot were Rag & Bone designers David Neville and Marcus Wainwright, stylists Meritt Elliott and Emily Current, and Mad Men's Kiernan Shipka.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen won womenswear designers of the year for their work on The Row at last night's CFDA Awards in NYC. MK debuted a darker 'do to match her all-black look, while Ashley mixed things up with a pretty purple number from their award-winning line for the exciting evening. The celebrated twins were joined by some of the biggest names in fashion, including Rachel Zoe, Kate Bosworth, and Zoe Saldana. Rachel was in a dress of her own design and tweeted a photo of herself and husband Rodger Berman looking dapper as they stepped out to the event. Zoe Saldana's Prabal Gurung gown was particularly jaw-dropping, while Jessica Chastain donned her own girly concoction from the same designer. Busy Philipps looked sexy in her tight pants number, while Julianne showed some skin in her red Kaufman Franco bit. Fashionologie was on the scene for all the action, so check out the CFDA red-carpet and behind-the-scenes highlights, and stay tuned for lots more action from the big night!
Brad Goreski had plenty of support from friends last night at a dinner hosted by Kate Spate and the brand's president Deborah Lloyd. Brad, who is their exclusive stylist, was joined by party goers in celebrating the launch of his new book Born to Be Brad. Jessica Alba, Minka Kelly, Mandy Moore, and Ahna O'Reilly gathered for the fete at Sunset Tower where they posed with Brad and got goofy with paper pairs of his signature glasses. The Kate Spade party decor also included napkins featuring Brad's face and colorful centerpieces. The ladies all wore looks from Kate Spade with Jessica in red pants and a blue shirt, Minka wearing a printed dress, and Mandy keeping things neutral in white.
Rachel Zoe and her husband Rodger Berman were among the celebrities who turned out for last night's Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center benefit at Sunset Tower. Mandy Moore, in Lela Rose, also posed on the black carpet, and inside, Rachel made the rounds with her good friend, and client, Anne Hathaway, as well as former San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom. Anne presented the first annual Visionary Award to Rachel, and the two laughed and shared a hug onstage. Both ladies wore vintage gowns from Decades. Anne was decked out in Christian Dior haute couture, and Rachel donned Versace.
The presentation was followed by a silent auction held to raise funds for the organization's homeless youth services. Rachel tweeted afterward that it had been "The most amazing night surrounded by the most amazing friends." There was another reason for Rachel to celebrate — she just crossed the one million Twitter followers mark!
Newly single Zoe Saldana, Eva Longoria, Mandy Moore, and Kristin Davis were among the glamorous stars in attendance at last night's Hollywood Style Awards in LA. The ladies stepped out in a variety of chic and colorful looks, and Eva modeled her latest sexy, body hugging design from Victoria Beckham's collection.
The event, hosted by George Kotsiopoulos, celebrated trendsetters in fashion, hair, and makeup. Kristin presented stylist of the year to Elizabeth Stewart, Mandy awarded her "bad-ass friend" Mandy Stern with make-up artist of the year, and Zoe, who avoided the red carpet before the show, took the stage to recognize Mara Roszak as hair stylist of the year. News of Zoe's breakup from boyfriend of 11 years, Keith Britton, broke over the weekend, but she seemed to be in high spirits. The Kardashian and Jenner sisters were also in top form following Kendall's 16th birthday on Saturday. Kendall got a 2012 black Range Rover on her big day and partied with friends and family, including her sister Kim, at the Andaz Hotel.
Over the weekend in Los Angeles, celebrities stepped out wearing both of Alice Temperely's clothing lines at various events. The designer happened to be awarded designer of the year last night and since I'm such a big fan of the brand, I wanted to wish her congratulations!
Emma Roberts was spotted at the Soho House in an adorable strapless Romanie dress from ALICE by Temperley, Rachel Zoe wore the Aragon Jumpsuit and cropped Leather Jacket to the same event, Mandy Moore attended the Hollywood Style Awards wearing the Martha Dress which will be in stores for Spriing, and Alice Eve was spotted in the amazing cream studded Wanda Beaded Dress, also due out for Spring. Shop their looks below and let me know whose Alice Temperley outfit you liked most.
The Fashion Week festivities continued over the weekend, with stars like Rachel Zoe, Mandy Moore, and Bar Refaeli headed out for both shows and parties. Bar threw on a white tee Friday night to join Tommy Hilfiger at a celebratory dinner with Owen Wilson and Kellan Lutz. Saturday brought more shows for starlets, with Emma Roberts checking out Jill Stuart, Mandy Moore taking in Lela Rose, and Heidi Klum supporting her Project Runway buddy Christian Siriano. Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz were among the celebs who turned out for Alexander Wang's Spring 2012 show. Lea Michele was out along with Zoe Kravitz, who also went to Alexander's afterparty at Pier 40. Zoe arrived with rumored love interest Penn Badgley, and mingled with other stars like Bryan Greenberg and singer Ellie Goulding. Rachel Zoe had a jam-packed few days, taking in shows like Diane von Furstenberg's and Victoria Beckham's. Tomorrow, Rachel will be the one in the spotlight when she presents her own new designs.
A very pregnant Selma Blair held onto her baby bump as she joined Mandy Moore, Whitney Port, and other stylish young women at Siren Studios to help kick off Lucky Shops LA. The weekend sale features clothing and accessories handpicked by Lucky editors, at prices well below retail, and a handful of VIPs were invited to get a preview of the wares on the stylish evening. Whitney debuted a darker hair color as she posed for pictures, while Selma Blair paired a flowing neutral dress with Stella McCartney sandals, and Jenna Dewan went a little wild in a leopard-print caftan. Check out Fab for tips on rocking Jenna's look! Mandy, who has been lying low since her successful Oscars appearance, was on hand to snag a few deals, and her fellow actresses Rashida Jones and Rachael Leigh Cook were also among the ladies who came out to browse the racks.
Drew Barrymore, Mandy Moore, President Bill Clinton, and nearly 800 college students congregated at the San Diego Food Bank in Southern California yesterday. Drew and the former president addressed the crowd before rolling up their sleeves and boxing up school lunches. Giving back seems to come easy for Drew, who visited Las Vegas last week to present her close pal Cameron Diaz with an award at CinemaCon. Drew's boyfriend and constant PDA partner, Will Kopelman, joined her on the trip to Sin City, but she was solo for yesterday's outing. Mandy, too, was without her husband, Ryan Adams, but tweeted her excitement about volunteering, meeting the president, and raising awareness for a charitable cause.
James Franco and Anne Hathaway kicked off the Oscars with a pre-recorded tour through the year's best film nominees, then they took the stage for a few live jokes. Their families even got in the act, with Anne's mother standing up in the crowd to tell her to stand up straight, and James's occasionally foul-mouthed grandmother expressing her excitement at "seeing Marky Mark!" Tom Hanks was on hand to announce a few early winners, then Kirk Douglas presented the best actress in a supporting role honour to a truly surprised Melissa Leo. Her speech was heartfelt after a grueling award season, though she caused the censors some alarm by uttering the F-word. She later, though, apologized profusely for the slipup. Don't miss all our press room updates including Natalie Portman talking about her baby!
Justin Timberlake and best-dressed Mila Kunis announced the animated awards before Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin stepped out in matching white jackets to present Aaron Sorkin with best adapted screenplay for The Social Network and further writing honours to the man behind The King's Speech. Anne Hathaway ditched her dress for a pantsuit to joke with Hugh Jackman during a musical number, and James Franco dressed as Marilyn Monroe, pink gown, blonde hair and all, to introduce Helen Mirren and Russell Brand. A stunning Giorgio Armani clad Reese Witherspoon stepped out to open the envelope containing the name of the best actor in a supporting role winner — Christian Bale won for his role in The Fighter, and after giving a shout-out to the real-life Dicky Ecklund, he teared up when telling his wife she's his mast in the storm of his life. Fellow Australians Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman were up next as presenters, followed by Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey handing out the best sound mixing honours. Anne enjoyed many costume changes and wore seven glamorous gowns, everything from Valentino to Lanvin, and weigh in on which was her best!
Mandy Moore was soon on stage, having changed from her gold Monique Lhuillier into a strapless blue number, to perform a track from Tangled nominated for best original song with her costar Zachary Levi — Gwyneth Paltrow later sang a number from Country Strong, but Randy Newman ended up taking honours for his music in Toy Story 3. Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal teamed up to present the best short honours before the much-anticipated Twilight moment, which was an auto-tuning the movies and our favourite Twilight stars. Sherlock Holmes buddies Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. joked about RDJ's checkered past together on stage, then Celine Dion took the stage to sing during the "In Memoriam" montage.
Subtle sparkling Halle Berry had the microphone afterward to say a special tribute to legendary actress Lena Horne. The big awards came quickly next, with Tom Hooper clinching directing honours for The King's Speech and mentioning that he shares "a triangle of man love" with his stars Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush. Jeff Bridges presented Natalie Portman with her best actress statue, and the Black Swan star tearfully thanked her "love" Benjamin Millepied for giving her the best role yet — becoming a mother. Sandra Bullock handed off the best actor gold man to Colin Firth, who managed to repress his urge to dance long enough to get out his words of thanks. Love for his movie kept coming, as it even picked up the best picture! This was another great night for Hollywood and a year of film — make sure to catch up on all our coverage from the press room, fashion and beauty news, and stay tuned for all the action from the afterparties!
