Mariah Carey showed off her toned physique in a bright red bikini while on tour in Australia last week. The singer took to the sand as she enjoyed downtime from her performances in Melbourne, which she shared photos of on her Instagram page. Mariah made her time Down Under a family affair, ringing in the new year alongside her husband, Nick Cannon, and their twins, Moroccan and Monroe. The little ones joined their mom on stage to greet the crowd at one show, and they even said a few words to fans into the microphone.

Mariah is gearing up for the premiere of American Idol next week and took some time to speak to Barbara Walters about her judging gig on the show. In the interview, which airs tonight on Nightline, Mariah touches on her reported feud with fellow judge Nicki Minaj, saying that in spite of the alleged drama, AI "is a classic, classy show."

Mariah Carey and Gwen Stefani kicked off the NFL season with live performances at Rockefeller Center last night. Gwen showed off her abs in a cutoff shirt while rocking out with her band, No Doubt, for the pregame show that was televised before kickoff. Mariah had a special guest appearance during her portion of the concert — her dog joined her on stage! Afterward, the New York Giants went on to lose to the Dallas Cowboys at NYC's MetLife Stadium. Both Mariah and No Doubt have albums to promote. Mariah treated the crowd to the title track, "Triumphant (Get 'Em)," from her album due out next year, and Gwen and her bandmates performed their current single, "Settle Down," off Push and Shove, which will be released Sept. 25.

It's Official: Mariah Carey Will Judge American Idol

American Idol has been a bit of a mess since Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced that they were leaving, but the reality competition just snagged a huge new celebrity judge: Mariah Carey.

American Idol has been a bit of a mess since Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced that they were leaving, but the reality competition just snagged a huge new celebrity judge: Mariah Carey. Fox president Kevin Reilly announced this morning that Mariah has inked a deal to sit on the judges' panel next year, and the songstress confirmed it herself on the phone, saying, "I'm so excited to be joining Idol. I can't wait to get started in a couple months. I will see you in January!" Mariah will easily fill the seat left by Jennifer Lopez, and I think she'll provide a much-needed breath of fresh air to the show. The speculation continues on who the third judge will be, but for now, how do you feel about Carey joining the show?

Last night's BET Awards, held at the Shrine Auditorium in LA, were equal parts celebratory and reflective as the stars in attendance honored each other and paid tribute to Whitney Houston. Beyoncé Knowles looked stunning in Stéphane Rolland and was one of the evening's big winners, as was husband Jay-Z, who made a surprise appearance on stage. Jay and Kanye West took home a couple statues for their work together on Watch the Throne. Kanye's BET date, girlfriend Kim Kardashian, tweeted how proud she was of his "dope" performance. Usher brought the house down with his single "Climax," and D'Angelo made a big return, having not released new music in 12 years.

Perhaps the most memorable part of the evening, however, was the heartfelt tribute to Whitney Houston. Mariah Carey spoke about the legendary singer, and there was barely a dry eye in the house — including Beyoncé, who sang along as she cried — when Whitney's own mother, Cissy, took the stage. Monica also took part, singing "I Love the Lord," while Brandy shared a joyful rendition of "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" and "I'm Your Baby Tonight." Chaka Khan belted out "I'm Every Woman," and Whitney's Waiting to Exhale castmates joined in on the special occasion. Check out all the 2012 BET Award winners here.

Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon hit the town in NYC last night to attend the 2012 Project Canvas Exhibition and Art Gala. The event was held at the city's Opera Gallery and was designed to raise money for art programs in NYC schools. Mariah was on hand to support Nick, who hosted. She tweeted, "At Nick's launch for project canvas. The shoes. . . Come on. . . A winner!" It was Nick and Mariah's latest special night. They were just in Paris to renew their vows in honor of their fourth wedding anniversary. Their children went along for the European excursion as well. Moroccan and Monroe Cannon's first birthday was on April 30, as Mariah welcomed them last year on her and Nick's third anniversary.

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary on Monday, and today they got a jump on the festivities during a romantic vow-renewal ceremony. Nick got down on one knee and took Mariah's hand while the Eiffel Tower perfectly framed their sunset ceremony. This isn't the first renewal for Nick and Mariah, who famously exchanged "I dos" inside a hospital last Spring right before the birth of their twins.

The loved-up couple arrived in Paris this week and immediately ventured out on a shopping trip along the picturesque Champs-Élysées. Nick and Mariah shared sweet kisses in between stops at French boutiques Dior and Louis Vuitton and were spotted picking out designer outfits for their almost 1-year-old twins, Roc and Roe. "Dem babies" turn 1 on Nick and Mariah's anniversary, making April 30 a very special day for the entire family.

All eyes were on a glowing Mariah Carey during a Jenny Craig event at the Four Seasons in NYC this afternoon. She wore a body-hugging red dress for the appearance, which was hosted by Gayle King. Mariah's been talking about her dramatic weight loss after giving birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe in May, and recently shared that she gained over 70 pounds during her pregnancy. The singer stopped by The Rosie Show yesterday to tell her story and explained that she had a really "tough pregnancy” but that "it was a huge blessing to be able to have the babies." Mariah's also flaunting her abs on the cover of Us Weekly and, inside the issue, talks about the fitness and diet plan that helped get her back in shape.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon held their son Moroccan and daughter Monroe during a recent taping of 20/20 at Mariah and Nick's NYC apartment with Barbara Walters. The twins will make their TV — and world! — debut when the show airs this Friday on ABC. Mariah and Nick welcomed their first children in April and have kept them out of the spotlight since. Mariah did share a picture of her daughter, Monroe, on Twitter over the Summer, though it didn't show her precious face. Mariah has since been busy getting back in shape and she showed off her postbaby body during a trip to the beach in August. She's also made time for her singing career and will release a new version of her hit holiday song "All I Want For Christmas Is You" with Justin Bieber next month. Nick, meanwhile, is a highlight of the new comedy hit Up All Night, on which his character has a knack with kids.
