Sarah Jessica Parker was by Matthew Broderick's side last night for an NBC party celebrating the premiere of the new series Smash. Many of the show's stars hit the red carpet, including Anjelica Huston, Debra Messing, Katherine McPhee, Uma Thurman, and Megan Hilty. The event came a week before Smash's premiere airs on Feb. 6 — find out what we think of the Smash pilot. It's an ambitious project from NBC and executive producer Steven Spielberg about theater people trying to do a Broadway version of Marilyn Monroe's life. The cast was recently together on the West Coast to talk about their midseason debut and the inevitable comparisons to another popular musical program, Glee. Producer Craig Zadan spoke about a possible rivalry at the TCAs, saying, "I don't think the show is like Glee, but we feel grateful to Glee for opening that door."
Debra Messing mingled with the other actors at the event, and apparently even met her new guy's parents! Debra Messing is dating costar Will Chase after separating from her husband Daniel Zelman. Yesterday, Debra met Will's mother and father at a dinner near the Temple of Dendur at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Rachel Zoe, Claire Danes, and SJP Show Their Stylish Support For Valentino
The rain didn't stop Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel Zoe, and other stars from stepping out in NYC for the launch of Valentino's virtual museum at the IAC headquarters last night. Rachel Zoe looked glamorous in a beaded gown by the designer and was joined by husband Rodger Berman. Claire Danes, who's starring in Showtime's new series, Homeland, came out in a bright red dress. She wore another look by Valentino on Wednesday when she was honored at the NY Women in Film and TV Muse Awards for Vision and Achievement.
SJP pulled double duty with Matthew Broderick and also attended the premiere of New Year's Eve yesterday. She's been promoting the film all week with appearances on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and LIVE! With Kelly while costars Jessica Biel and Zac Efron have been making the talk-show rounds as well.

Stars from Garry Marshall's New Year's Eve came out in their finest holiday attire tonight for the East Coast premiere of the ensemble film. Zac Efron and Michelle Pfeiffer, who were also on hand for Saturday's junket and Monday's LA premiere, hit the carpet in the Big Apple and posed for photos. It was a busy day for Zac who kicked things off with an appearance on Live With Kelly then zoomed over to NBC studios where he sat down for a chat with Jimmy Fallon. Jessica Biel also hit the talk show circuit, and made a sexy appearance on the Late Show wearing a white Victoria Beckham design before changing into a sparkly floor-length Valentino to join her costars at the screening.

Emily stood out in a bold Notte by Marchesa number, while her sister, Felicity Blunt, wore black to accompany fiancé Stanley Tucci.
