Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Cameron Diaz, Penélope Cruz, and Javier Bardem are all starring in this week's new release, The Counselor. I know, take a moment to compose yourself. We got a peek at the hotness explosion in the trailer, and we have even more sexy stills from the Ridley Scott drama. The film, about a lawyer who gets sucked into a drug trafficking ring, sounds pretty heavy, so for now, let's just enjoy cowboy Pitt and Bardem dressing all crazy.
Penélope Cruz and her sister, Monica, attended a dinner for their L'Agent by Agent Provocateur capsule collection in London on Wednesday night. They linked up with the brand's creative director, Sarah Shotton, and Net-a-Porter President Alison Loehnis for the event. Penélope and Monica both sported sleek black outfits to show off their postbaby figures — Penélope gave birth to her second child, a daughter named Luna, in late July, while Monica welcomed a baby girl in May. The two joined forces to design a special range of lingerie for Agent Provocateur and shot a rather risqué ad campaign, directed by Penélope, for the collection earlier this year. The steamy video stars model Irina Shayk, and Monica, as well as Penélope's husband, Javier Bardem, make cameos.
Penélope opted to support her fashion project while her The Counselor costar Michael Fassbender attended a special Cinema Society screening of the crime drama in NYC last night. However, she did join Michael, Javier, and director Ridley Scott for the film's London premiere and photocall last week.
Elle's annual Women in Hollywood issue is set to hit the stands on Oct. 22, and it's focusing on the powerful women who are making big changes in the film industry. The newest round of exceptional actresses discuss everything from making films with strong female leads to standing up against conventional expectations for women in the industry. We know these women inspire us, but what inspires them? We're taking a look at a few insightful quotes from this year's big game changers.
Reese WitherspoonAlthough Reese Witherspoon has been acting in movies for a long time, she began producing films to push more women into lead roles. "I started noticing a couple years ago that I wasn't seeing women as the stars of movies. I'm seeing them as the guys' girlfriends, or so-and-so's wife. I just thought: God, if I don't start buckling down and start producing some movies, what's my daughter going to see?"
As it turns out, Reese's daughter is a lot more than just her reason for creating a positive role model for young women . . . she's also helped Reese ground herself. "Somebody was saying to me the other day, 'Oh, people get less interesting when they have kids.' I just don't think that's true. I feel like I was so confused before I had kids, I almost got in my own way. Having kids made me clearer about who I was as a woman. I just wanted to exhibit good qualities for my daughter. I was a little competitive before I had kids — probably really competitive, to be honest. It really made me let go of that."
Shailene WoodleyFor Shailene Woodley, the representation of women in Hollywood isn't quite as important as her representation of herself. In a world that tends to seem insincere, Shailene is striving to stay grounded. "There's nothing like walking into a meeting and people expecting me to shake hands, and you hug them. For me, a hug is to disregard all of that bullsh*t and be like, This is me, Shai. This is who I am. Now let's talk about real situations. Let's not talk about all this surface-level stuff."
At the same time, though, Shailene recognizes that she still has a lot of growing to do. "I'm so young, and I'm single, and I just want to drift. I'm just going to be a drifter. I want to do something totally different before Insurgent (the second film in the Divergent trilogy). Maybe I'll work in a tea shop. Or live in Amsterdam. Or be a nanny. Life experience only helps us as actors. I need new experiences to draw upon."

Penélope Cruz looked better than ever when she attended a photocall in London today for her new film, The Counselor, with some very handsome men. The actress, who gave birth to her second child in July, linked up with husband Javier Bardem, Michael Fassbender, and director Ridley Scott to continue promoting their project. Penélope made her first postbaby red carpet appearance on Thursday when she attended a premiere for The Counselor in the English capital alongside Javier, Michael, and the current talk of Hollywood, Scott Eastwood.
While Penélope looked very relaxed during her event today, she revealed this week that she actually sees herself as having many crazy fears. She said in an interview, "I have so many fears. I have become an expert at hiding them, but I am so full of them. I'm not giving you examples because they are all so crazy. Everybody thinks I'm so centered and relaxed, but it's so opposite to what goes on inside me. But I've been working on it all my life, so it gets better."
Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem joined their costar Michael Fassbender and directer Ridley Scott for a special screening of The Counselor in London on Thursday. Penélope flaunted her famous curves in a Temperley London gown for her first red carpet appearance since giving birth to her and Javier's second child, daughter Luna, back in July. Also on hand for Thursday's premiere were Sigourney Weaver and Scott Eastwood. Though a couple of the movie's stars were missing from the screening — Brad Pitt is currently filming the World War II flick Fury in the English countryside, and Cameron Diaz is busy in Boston on the set of Sex Tape — you can still see hot photos of them from the movie before it hits theaters on Oct. 25. In the crime drama, Michael plays a lawyer who gets involved in drug trafficking, with Penélope portraying his seemingly naive girlfriend, Laura. It's the first time that Javier and his wife have been on screen together since they played a dysfunctional couple in 2008's Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
The 2013 Toronto International Film Festival kicks off tomorrow, and as we prep for many A-List red carpet moments, we're taking a look back at highlights from years past. Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lawrence, Ben Affleck, and Gwyneth Paltrow are just some of the major stars who have screened their projects and wowed Canadian audiences.

We've already gotten a little taste of The Counselor with its first teaser, but now the full trailer has arrived! It stars Michael Fassbender as a lawyer on the edge of making some pretty ambiguous moral decisions when he joins the drug trade. At his side is Penelope Cruz, who befriends Cameron Diaz, sporting some serious tats. Javier Bardem is there as an eccentric member of the gang, and Brad Pitt seems to be the voice of reason who is also a cowboy. Sound like its up your alley? Yeah, mine too.
I'm excited for this, and not just because of all the hot people. OK, admittedly in part due to the hot people. But also because this genuinely looks good! Ridley Scott is directing, and that guy can work some magic behind the camera. I'm prepared for drugs, danger, and cheetahs. At least one cheetah. The movie opens on Oct. 25, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.
Penélope Cruz's hands-on approach to her L'Agent by Agent Provocateur extends far beyond designing sexy and Spanish-inspired pieces for the label. The actress made her directorial debut for the campaign film — an experience she relished for the freedom of being "able to tell the story I wanted to tell."
The clip, starring Irina Shayk, shows models in various states of dress (and undress, naturally). As the centerpiece, Shayk works the vampy lingerie in a way that would seduce any man, including her soccer superstar boyfriend, Cristiano Ronaldo. Update: Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem have named their baby girl Luna Encinas Cruz, according to the Spanish publication Vanitatis. Javier reportedly registered the birth of his daughter during a visit to Madrid's registrar office on July 30. The name Luna translates to mean "moon" in Spanish, while Encinas is Javier's first surname. The moniker could also hold special meaning for the couple since the name also belongs to their late director, Juan Jose Bigas Luna, who passed away this past April. Penélope and Javier shared a close bond with Bigas Luna, whom they credit for introducing them on the set of their first collaboration, Jamon, Jamon.
Penélope and Javier welcomed their second child in Madrid two weeks ago on July 22. People magazine confirmed that Penélope Cruz gave birth to a daughter, but few other details have been revealed about the latest addition to the Cruz-Bardem family. Penélope showed no signs of slowing down right before giving birth as she and Javier attended an Asier Etxeandia concert on Saturday. At one point, Javier took over the stage to play the bongos while Penélope snapped photos from the audience. The couple's new daughter joins their 2-year-old son, Leo. Congratulations to the happy family!
Penélope Cruz made her first trip behind the camera to direct a very risqué ad for the new L'Argent by Agent Provocateur Fall/Winter 2013 campaign. She designed the new range with her sister, Monica Cruz, who also made an appearance in the ad while wearing a pink negligee just two days before giving birth. Monica isn't the only familiar face that Penélope wrangled in for the shoot, as Javier Bardem also makes a brief cameo at the very end of the video. Watch Penélope's sexy new ad above, and keep reading to hear from Penélope about making the clip.
