Penélope Cruz sported a professional-looking skirt and blazer combo to a press conference unveiling her Campari calendar at Milan's Hotel Bulgari yesterday afternoon. Later, she changed into a formal red dress to celebrate the "Kiss Superstition Goodbye" calendar at a cocktail party in the city. Yesterday, we got a peek at Penélope in Campari's calendar, which, in honor of the year '13, shows her breaking various superstitions. Penélope's had other business to take care of in Italy too. Penélope attended a press conference for her film Twice Born in Rome last week, and she also promoted the movie on the TV show Che Tempo Che Fa. While Penélope is in Europe, her husband, Javier Bardem, is promoting his latest film, Skyfall. He was just in LA to accept a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Penélope Cruz has officially made her debut in Campari's 2013 "Kiss Superstition Goodbye" calendar. The Italian spirits brand released 13 images from the limited-edition annual yesterday, all of which feature the Oscar-winning actress participating in superstitious acts like breaking mirrors, walking under ladders, opening umbrellas indoors, and more. Penélope was announced as the calendar's star back in August, and she got to work shooting the then-secret theme in Milan. She recently told Elle magazine that posing for the infamous calendar was like "saying goodbye to fear."

Penélope returned to Italy last week to promote her latest film, Twice Born. She was also on hand to help husband Javier Bardem celebrate the release of Skyfall while he did press for the Bond movie in Paris. Penélope added even more to her workload with news that she's the new face of Spanish leather goods brand Loews, which comes out next week.

Penélope Cruz rocked a leather Versace trench coat for a photocall promoting Twice Born at the St. Regis in Rome today, and she was back out later in a blue gown for the film's premiere. The movie opens in Italy on Thursday, though she kicked off press in September at the Toronto International Film Festival. Since then, Penélope has filmed The Counselor alongside Javier Bardem and Cameron Diaz, and also traveled in support of her husband's latest project. Penélope, Javier, and their son, Leo, popped up in France last month ahead of his Skyfall premiere in Paris. He's since visited Spain for the Bond film, which is already breaking records overseas and will debut in the US on Friday.

Penelope Cruz was a vision in red arriving at yesterday's San Sebastian Film Festival premiere of Twice Born. She posed solo on the red carpet in a vintage full-length Versace gown while husband Javier Bardem was 500 miles away shooting a new project with Cameron Diaz. Cameron and Javier were spotted in outrageous wardrobes on the set of The Counselor, which also stars Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender. They've been filming on location in London for the past few weeks, but production has now moved to Javier and Penelope's home country of Spain.

Emile and Sergio both joined her at the premiere of Twice Born, where she worked the red carpet in a pink Atelier Versace gown.

Earlier in the day, the trio were together for another press event. Penelope Cruz wore a purple Emilio Pucci suit to their afternoon photocall.

It seems Penelope's husband, Javier Bardem, didn't join her for the Italian-language movie's debut. Javier's got a lot on his own plate at the moment, with the release of the next James Bond film, Skyfall, in which he stars as the villain, around the corner in November. Plus, he and Penelope are logging plenty of time together working on Ridley Scott's new project, The Counselor, in London.

She spoke about her upcoming film, Venuto al Mondo, in the publication, as well as her most recent Woody Allen collaboration, To Rome With Love. Penelope spoke about her career and relationships with directors like Woody and Spain's Pedro Almodovar. She also touched on working with her husband, Javier Bardem, and her secret to acting in a comedy. Here are highlights from Penelope Cruz in W:

• On working in foreign languages with Woody: "He gave [her and Javier] the [Vicky Cristina Barcelona] script he wrote in English, and he gave us the freedom to translate and improvise. Woody told me recently that he still doesn’t know if we are talking about the atomic bomb. And it's the same thing in To Rome With Love — he doesn't speak Italian. I translated my lines. So he still doesn't know what I am saying."
• On working in English, not her native language: "There is a part of your brain that has to stop when you're acting. You have to be in the moment and dare to fly. Words can't be on your mind. And yet, when you are working in a foreign language, you have to be thinking about the words every single second. It's difficult, but I'm not complaining. It's just the way it is."
• The key to acting in a comedy: "I don't play comedy as comedy. That would be the biggest trap. I think about the characters and their situations. Then you don't have to worry where the laugh is going to be. But comedy is harder than drama."
