Lily Allen was out in London last night, wearing a big black fur coat and hat to guard against the cold... well, for most of the night. She ate out at Nobu and then went on to a couple of bars, leaving one with just a vest top on — she must have been freezing! In the buildup to her album release in February, she's been doing a lot of interviews where she's been talking about her lesbian dreams and the fact that she makes very little money from album sales. She said:

"I don’t make money at all from selling an album which is probably why I feel so angry about having do to all this promotion, because I’m not earning money out of it. Someone else [does] and they don’t have to live with the lasting effects."
What do you think of Lily's complaint? Should stars earn more from albums, or is it fair that they earn in other ways, for instance while touring?

Post a CommentLOL - no, maybe you're not making any money, Lily, because your music is cr*p. I haven't seen her doing that much promotion - just wandering the streets in fur hats and little clothing, really. Oh, and running off with older men.
Yeah my heart bleeds for her financial situation.
I'm sure she still makes three times more money with her album than me with my 9-5 job.
well said ladies... nothing more to add!
^Please feel free to add that I'm pretty.
Yeah, slow day at work..
Not specific to her, but I do think it's unfair that musicians don't make much from album sales. She obviously does alright for herself anyway, but smaller artists aren't getting what they deserve.
^ I do agree Olive Black... even more of a nightmare for bands!
It's just Lily saying it when she's just eaten at Nobu shops at Chanel and has a year off getting pissed, going on holiday getting fat then thin again!
And Advah humble apologies for forgetting pretty! won't happen again! x x
Thanks, Tototee!
Much appreciated!
OliveBlack, I agree. That makes her comment even more insulting, since as T. said she spent the last year wearing Chanel and so. I'm sure small yet much better bands must be thrilled she's speaking for them...
Totally agree with all of you - my heart bleeds for the poor girl...
