Sometimes when a director and actor meet, it's a match made in movie heaven — so why wouldn't they team up again? Pairings like Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have held on to partnerships for years, creating scores of wonderful films. These are the relationships I want to celebrate: that particular kinship between a filmmaker and a muse. Take a look through to see some of my all-time favorite duos.
5 Highlights From the Django Unchained Press Conference in NYC
Quentin Tarantino was joined by the stars of his newest film, Django Unchained, for a press conference at the Ritz-Carlton in NYC yesterday morning. We were on the scene to hear the cast talk about the movie, which opens Dec. 25, and discuss what it was like playing slaves and slave-owners.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington, and several other actors were on hand to discuss the powerful film, which manages to turn a horrifying tale of slavery into a Spaghetti Western-esque masterpiece. They've all been busy promoting the new movie, which premiered in NYC with some help from Leo's friend Cameron Diaz last week.
Read on to see our five favorite moments from the press conference, including a surprise appearance by Jonah Hill.
Diane Kruger and Katie Holmes Toast Quentin Tarantino
Diane Kruger wore Prabal Gurung for a special gala honoring Quentin Tarantino in NYC last night. Diane and stars, including Katie Holmes, assembled at the Museum of Modern Art for the "Tribute to Quentin Tarantino" event, which comes ahead of the release of the director's next film, Django Unchained, on Christmas Day. Quentin's the fifth-ever director to receive a retrospective honor from MoMA, following in the footsteps of Tim Burton and more.
Diane and Quentin have worked together previously, as she starred in his 2009 film, Inglourious Basterds. Diane made a speech about Quentin before a small film about him was screened for an audience of his frequent collaborators, including Reservoir Dogs actors Steve Buscemi and Harvey Keitel. Quentin's frequent producer Harvey Weinstein made the rounds with his pregnant wife, Georgina Chapman, as did Chelsea Clinton with her husband, Marc Mezvinsky. Django's Jamie Foxx also showed up to lend his support to Quentin.
Check Out the Poster For Tarantino's Latest, Django Unchained
Quentin Tarantino's latest project, Django Unchained, doesn't open until Christmas, but we're getting a look at the poster for the period piece today. Django features Jamie Foxx as a slave seeking revenge against his former master, an evil plantation owner played by Leonardo DiCaprio. We haven't seen any footage of the flick, which Tarantino calls a Spaghetti Western. The red and black deco teaser is cool, but we're curious about who the two silhouetted men are supposed to be — possibly Foxx and Christoph Waltz, who plays a bounty hunter? What do you think?

Leonardo DiCaprio Heads West With Tarantino
Leonardo DiCaprio may be Martin Scorsese's pet leading man, but the actor is eyeing a collaboration with another high profile director: DiCaprio is in talks to star in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. The actor would play the villain in the spaghetti Western, a ranch and club owner named Calvin Candie who keeps women as slaves and makes men fight to the death. Django, the titular freed slave must deal with Candie in order to rescue his wife and get her to safety.
There's no doubt that Tarantino will line up an amazing cast (Christoph Waltz and Will Smith are both rumored to get on board), and this sounds like a villainous role DiCaprio can really sink his teeth into. Can you see Leo going evil or is that baby face only suited to playing good guys?
Colin, Livia and Geoffrey Celebrate King's Speech Success at Weinstein's Oscars Party
The Weinstein Company held a celebration of The King's Speech at Chateau Marmont last night. The film won four awards at the Oscars, including best picture, best actor (presented by Sandra Bullock), best director, and best original screenplay. Costars Geoffrey Rush and Colin Firth toasted their movie's success alongside Colin's wife, Livia Giuggioli. Colin joked about his royal wedding invite getting lost in the post during his time in the press room, after he walked the red carpet with Livia and lots of dapper men. Directors Baz Luhrmann, Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino, and Eli Roth joined in the fun, as did writer Mark Logue and producer Gareth Unwin. Host Harvey Weinstein was joined by Georgina Chapman and Jane Seymour. Colin and Geoffrey's costar Helena Bonham Carter was absent from the pictures, but she did attend the Weinstein party the night before along with director Tom Hooper.
Red-Hot Diane Kruger and Josh Jackson Show Their Love at Sunset Tower
Diane Kruger posed in a bold Preen dress and Brian Atwood booties with Joshua Jackson at a reception for I Am Love in LA Thursday night. The party, held at Sunset Tower, was hosted by Quentin Tarantino and also honoured the film's leading lady, Tilda Swinton. Diane and Josh were still sporting their Cabo glow after returning from their sunny vacation on Wednesday. They're right in the middle of all the award season action, which continues this weekend with the Critic's Choice Awards last night and the Golden Globes on Sunday. Diane's been a red carpet staple at previous shows, though it remains to be seen if she'll don more gorgeous gowns for this year's festivities.

Jessica Alba & Naomi Campbell Go Glam at Venice Film Fest
The Venice Film Festival got off to a stylish start yesterday as film talent arrived in Italy. Jessica Alba dressed casually as she took a water taxi to the Excelsior Hotel, then changed in to Valentino for the Uomo Vogue dinner for Quentin Tarantino. FabUK wants to know if you love or hate her look. She was joined by Stephen Dorff and Naomi Campbell, who was fresh off her bikini time in Sardinia with Bar Refaeli and Leonardo DiCaprio. After the LA premiere, Jessica is in Europe for Machete, and before she left NYC Jess had an awkward interview with Letterman about her costar Lindsay Lohan.
