Sometimes when a director and actor meet, it's a match made in movie heaven — so why wouldn't they team up again? Pairings like Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have held on to partnerships for years, creating scores of wonderful films. These are the relationships I want to celebrate: that particular kinship between a filmmaker and a muse. Take a look through to see some of my all-time favorite duos.

Jennifer Lawrence Makes the Rounds at the Weinstein Co. SAGs Bash
Jennifer Lawrence was the woman of the hour at The Weinstein Company's post-SAG Awards party hosted by Fiji Water at Sunset Tower in LA last night. She picked up the award for best actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook and celebrated with costars Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro at the bash. Jennifer also posed alongside fellow nominee Naomi Watts, who presented at the show with Liev Schreiber. Jennifer's big night wasn't dampened by her recent walking-pneumonia diagnosis, which she's battling with "a lot of medication," or by the fact that she almost ripped her dress while heading to the stage to accept her statue.
Plenty of other stars kicked back after the SAGs at another soiree held at the Chateau Marmont. Ben Affleck and his wife, Jennifer Garner, toasted his Argo win while the cast of Les Misérables met up with winner Anne Hathaway — make sure to check out the full list of SAG Award winners!
Bradley, Ben, and Marion Win Big and Catch Up at the Hollywood Film Awards
Last night's Hollywood Film Awards brought plenty of stars to the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Few attendees went home empty-handed — Bradley Cooper won the Hollywood Actor Award, Marion Cotillard the Hollywood Actress Award, and Amy Adams the Hollywood Supporting Actress Award. Ben Affleck also added to his statue collection, since he and the cast of his third directorial project, Argo, won the Hollywood Ensemble Acting Award. He accepted the prize in the company of Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, and Alan Arkin. Judd Apatow, meanwhile, accepted his Hollywood Comedy Award.
We caught up with Bradley on the red carpet before the show began. He spoke about working with Jennifer Lawrence in their forthcoming Silver Linings Playbook, revealing that on their very first day on set, the ice was broken right away since they had to practice a dance scene. Many of the attendees' minds were on the third presidential debate, however. Bradley told us his advice to young people this election season is to vote, while Kerry Washington showed off her Barack Obama 2012 iPhone case.

Ben Affleck, Marion Cotillard, and More Stars Light Up the Hollywood Film Awards Red Carpet
Ben Affleck and Marion Cotillard were among those who stepped out for last night's Hollywood Film Awards in LA. Marion hit the red carpet in a strapless gown from Dior, while Amy Adams also attended in a long Oscar de la Renta number. A Prabal Gurung-clad Amanda Seyfried, Kerry Washington, and Irish actress Kelly Reilly rounded out the list of ladies heading into the show. Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, and Bryan Cranston were also on hand. The Hollywood Film Awards are generally regarded as the first of award season, which gets into full swing in early 2013. Argo was honored for the acting skills of their cast, while Robert and Bradley picked up statues for their forthcoming Silver Linings Playbook. Richard Gere received a lifetime achievement award, while Amy and Marion got individual acting honors.
Jennifer Brings a Touch of Katniss to Her TIFF Premiere With Bradley
Jennifer Lawrence, in a dramatic Dior Couture gown, and Bradley Cooper teamed up in Toronto to show off Silver Linings Playbook at the city's film festival tonight. It was Bradley's second red carpet at the event after premiering The Place Beyond the Pines with Ryan Gosling yesterday. Jennifer made an appearance at that screening as well to show her support for her costar. She's sporting darker hair for her role as Katniss in the second installment of The Hunger Games, which she'll start filming next week. Sam Claflin was recently added to the cast, as was Jeffrey Wright.
Silver Linings Playbook Trailer: Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence Are Crazy For Each Other
Falling in love can make some people act crazy, but what if the two people in question are already a little crazy before they meet? That's what happens to Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence in the rather charming trailer for the dramedy Silver Linings Playbook, from filmmaker David O. Russell. Cooper stars as Pat, a man who moves back in with his parents after spending a few years in a mental institution. As he's getting his bearings, he meets Tiffany (Lawrence), who has a similar experience with depression, behavior-altering meds, and getting herself into trouble. Match made in heaven, right?
I kind of love this trailer; I was surprised by Cooper and Lawrence's chemistry, as well as how funny Cooper is as a guy who's a little unstable (his lack of a filter leads to some laughs in the preview). While it's obvious where Pat and Tiffany's relationship is going, I'm looking forward to seeing the two leads find love, along with the stellar supporting cast that includes Robert De Niro and Chris Tucker. Silver Linings Playbook comes out Nov. 21, but you can watch the trailer after the jump.
Petra Nemcová and Karolina Kurková Join Hot Guys Adrien and Ewan For Cannes Bash
The stars came out to celebrate during the Cannes Film Festival in France yesterday. Gerard Butler, Adrien Brody, and Karolina Kurková were just a few of the guests at IWC and Finch's Quarterly Review filmmakers dinner, which was held at the Hotel Du Cap. Model Karolina — who tweeted of the event, "What a night!" — and Petra Nemcová got together for a playful photo, while Gerard met up with pals Robert De Niro, Ewan McGregor, and Adrien. Petra's boyfriend, Sean Penn, wasn't by her side for this bash, though they were together for the Haiti: Carnival in Cannes event. There's been so much excitement at Cannes so far, but there's even more to come, as both Brad Pitt and Kristen Stewart are still expected to hit the red carpet this week.
Naomi Watts and Liv Tyler Get Fancy For a Dinner With Chanel and Tribeca
Chanel played host last night at its annual Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner held inside NYC's Odeon restaurant. Many of the ladies donned Chanel for the occasion, including Alexa Chung and Leelee Sobieski — who's your pick for best dressed at Chanel's dinner? Naomi Watts went with a simple LBD to pose alongside Liev Schreiber, while Liv Tyler posed solo. Many of the film festival's jurors turned out, like Kellan Lutz and Camilla Bella, and founders Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal swung by as well. The cinema fun wraps up Sunday, April 29. Make sure to check out all the Tribeca Film Festival pictures, and click through to see what Leelee, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, model Lily Donaldson, and more wore to Chanel's soiree.
Dakota, Ivanka, and More Stars Kick off Tribeca With Vanity Fair
Stars like Dakota Fanning, Leelee Sobieski, and Catherine Zeta-Jones gathered last night to celebrate the start of the Tribeca Film Festival at Vanity Fair's kickoff party. The bash was held at NYC's State Supreme Courthouse and many of the celebs posed for pictures outside before heading in to start the fun with editor in chief Graydon Carter. Leelee, who arrived with her designer husband Adam Kimmel, wore a white gown from Jil Sander. Dakota, one of the festival's judges this year, was pretty in a pink Lanvin. Catherine broke from working on The Bitter Pill to throw on a silver Michael Kors number and let loose alongside husband Michael Douglas. Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner also popped by to say hello during a date night, when their daughter Arabella stayed home. Today marks the official opening of Robert De Niro's 11-year-old cinema event — check out our roundup of highlights from the Tribeca Film Festival since its inception in 2001.
