Vera Wang was honoured with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2013 CFDA Awards. This shouldn't come as a surprise, considering the designer's name is synonymous with "dream wedding dress." Plus, this isn't even her first time receiving a CFDA Award. She was also named Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2005. While Wang has expanded her empire to include everything from ready-to-wear and fragrance to china and crystal, and has collaborated with Kohl's, David's Bridal, and Zale Corporation in America, her stronghold on the bridal industry is unparalleled.

It's easy to imagine that the life of a young model in New York City is glamorous and fun, but there's a healthy dose of unpredictability that goes along with it. That's exactly what Laura Love (above center) is learning, having recently traded her California lifestyle for the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple. "My life is anything but typical lately," she said with a laugh. And a lot of the liveliness has to do with Love's latest work as the face of Vera Wang's new fragrance, Be Jeweled. "My favourite part of the experience was working with the team," she said of the beautiful ad campaign. "We shot in California, which was nice for me because I'm from there."

One of the things that keeps Love focused during the unpredictable days is a rigorous ballet practice schedule. A classically trained ballerina, Love attends class twice a day when she isn't traveling. "It gives me a kind of structure that modeling can't," she says. Kate Hudson wore Ann Taylor and brought Matthew Bellamy with her to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation's annual Hot Pink Party in NYC last night. The couple was joined at the charity bash by a Blumarine-wearing Elizabeth Hurley and Elton John, as well as fashion designers Michael Kors, Vera Wang, and Donna Karan. Kate was doing more than just walking the pink carpet; she also presented an award to Kay Krill, the CEO of ANN Inc., the parent company for Ann Taylor, where Kate serves as a brand ambassador.

Kate has been keeping busy in the Big Apple. She is currently promoting her new film, The Reluctant Fundamentalist, which will screen at the Tribeca Film Festival next week. Despite Kate's work duties, she and Matthew did manage to squeeze in time with their boys in the city ahead of their gala date.

Sienna Miller wore a Topshop dress and held hands with her future sister-in-law, Matilda Sturridge, when the two attended Vanity Fair's Tribeca Film Festival party in NYC last night. Sienna's night out with Matilda comes after a day out with Tom Sturridge in Manhattan earlier this week. The couple squeezed in a bit of alone time following a weekend with their daughter, Marlowe.

Sienna and Matilda were joined at the event by Evan Rachel Wood, who cradled her baby bump in a black flowing dress. Evan vented about attending the star-studded bash while being with child since she couldn't partake in any of the booze-related festivities. She tweeted, "I love that I am going to a cocktail party tonight, but I can't have any cocktails. It's like a birthday with no cake." Also on hand at the fashionable fete was model Karolina Kurkova, TFF fixture Robert De Niro, and Whoopi Goldberg.

I was out just one day last week and there's already lots of news to catch up on. Not only did I find out about Aggy Deyn and her new fashion collaboration with Dr Martens, but now Vera Wang is set to launch a 74-skew colour cosmetics line. The amazing and super busy Ms. Wang (who already has a dynasty that includes wedding gowns, fragrances, home goods, women’s apparel, handbags, jewellery, sunglasses, footwear, sleepwear and outerwear) teamed up with BeautyBank, part of the Estée Lauder Companies to create a collection called Simply Vera Wang. The line is quite affordable ($16.50 to $39.50 in USD) and the ingredients are intended to be good for your skin too — something Vera is quite particular about.

However, before you get too excited, the range is scheduled for a US launch next month, with a global rollout expected no sooner than 2013 — boo. Oh well, good things come to those who wait. In the meantime, you can certainly let your imagination run wild with the thoughts of a possible nail varnish collection in the works too. Apparently Vera's daughters Josephine and Cecilia are nudging mum to add it to the empire. Are you interested in testing out Simply Vera Wang next year?

Kate Winslet joined the many famous faces at NY Fashion Week as she stepped out in the Big Apple last night. She attended the opening of CFDA's new exhibition at FIT called "Impact: 50 Years of the CFDA." Kate, who is the current face of St. John, wore a fitted black dress from the line and was accompanied by St. John designer George Sharp and CFDA CEO Steven Kolb for the occasion. Also on hand to see the work on display were Prabal Gurung, Vera Wang, Lorraine Schwartz, and Anna Wintour.

Kate's coming off an exciting award season win last month. Kate picked up a Golden Globe for her work in Mildred Pierce and was joined by boyfriend Ned Rocknroll at the big show.
