Chrissy Teigen Just Got Botox in an Unusual Place — Here's Why
Chrissy Teigen shares a lot of her personal life with her Instagram followers, from delicious recipes to trolling her husband, John Legend. This time, however, the model and judge of Bring the Funny is giving us insight on a cosmetic procedure by showing us her experience getting Botox (also known as onabotulinumtoxinA) injected into her armpits.
In the video posted to her Instagram Story, Teigen looks away as plastic surgeon Jason Diamond, MD, injects the solution, which is commonly used to cosmetically treat wrinkles, beneath her arm. She makes a remark after the injection: "That really isn't anything."
"Botoxed my armpits," Teigen captioned the video. "Truly best move I have ever made. I can wear silk again without soaking, woohoo!"
Board-certified dermatologist Dhaval Bhanusali, MD, previously explained to POPSUGAR that getting the liquid injected into your armpits can alleviate sweating, although you'll have to get it repeated every four months. "Botox works by blocking the neurotransmitters that stimulate the sweat glands," he said.
