Trend Alert: The Mega Fringe

Last night, Lily Allen stepped out for the premiere of Tamara Drewe and wowed the crowds with a chic exaggerated fringe. She looked fab! The hair worked particularly well because it was jet black and glossy, creating a neat frame for her face. Lily isn't the only one embracing statement fringes. Most recently, at the Emmy Awards Glee's Naya Rivera worked a giant updo with a sharp extra-long fringe.

Meanwhile, her co-star Lea Michele has been working a flurry of sultry fringes, sometimes to the point where it looks like a hair piece. (Check out this pic of her at the Fox Upfront after party in May.) At the same time one of the hottest accessories to launch this Summer has been Daniel Hersheson's Winges, or wig fringes.

The look doesn't suit everyone but can be a great way to punch up a hairstyle and change the proportions of a face too. Are you a fan of this hair style?

it looks very Jersey Shore (goodness; I hate myself for making that allusion)...
