Following her arrest on suspicion of drug offences yesterday (in relation to a video of her allegedly showing her using crack cocaine), Amy Winehouse has been released on bail. She was initially expected to stay the night in prison, but was released late last night after she co-operated. Her spokeswoman made this statement:
"Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment. She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is co-operating fully with inquiries. The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year."
The video is part of an ongoing investigation into a couple suspected of supplying drugs to well-known names, filming them taking the illegal substances and then allegedly bribing them for cash by threatening them with exposure. Peaches Geldof is to be interviewed tomorrow in the same investigation.
Following her release, Amy stayed at a friends house in London last night, popping out in full make-up (with her heart-shaped Blake badge pinned to the scarf in her hair) to get some cash out and greet the paparazzi.
