How Zara Took Inspiration From Designers For Autumn 2014

Decoding Zara's Autumn Lookbook

Last week, Balmain's Olivier Rousteing made headlines when he said he didn't mind high street retailer Zara taking inspiration from his designs. We doubt everyone in the fashion industry agreed with this statement, given that many designers still fight over protecting their works from copyright infringements, but there's no denying that Zara does a good job of bringing the catwalks to our closets!

Fashion is all about reinventing, repurposing, or re-creating, and the trickle-down to the high street allows people to try trends regardless of budget. Zara has just published its Autumn lookbook, and following Rousteing's interview, we've looked at what we think might have been pinned to the mood board of the Spanish retailer when they started planning their 2014 collection. Whether or not you're going to be able to afford that Givenchy hoodie or Gucci coat, Zara has got you covered with some affordable alternatives. Scroll down and swipe away to see how their key pieces pay homage to high fashion!
