Kate Middleton's Wedding Tiara

Duchess Catherine's Wedding Tiara Revealed!

Even though Kate was rumored to wear flowers in her hair today, she ultimately decided on a Halo wedding tiara made by Cartier in 1936. It was originally bought by the Duke of York (King George VI) for his duchess wife (Queen Elizabeth) three weeks before he became king. The tiara was given to Princess Elizabeth (the present day queen) by her mother on her 18th birthday. Do you like the tiara that Kate chose?

Her choice reflected the same theme as the rest of her wedding and attire -- understated and sophisticated, but with the slightest amount of bling lest you forget she's a princess. LOL A halo tiara is essentially a crown, which would have been bold except that it's so dainty and understated, not to mention it was the Queen's, it worked out great. I loved everything she did. Her dress was conservative enough to please her royal grandmother in law with a high neck in the back and long sleeves, and yet modern enough to please a modern princess and it had a pretty low dip in the front that added a little bit of sexiness without blinding the Archbishop of Canterbury. I don't think she could have chosen better. It seemed like a compromise that all came out perfectly. I also loved that her sister also wore white, it seemed like an odd choice everyone commented on, and it would have been odd if a whole troupe of bridesmaids wore it. But, with only the two of them, it was like a show of solidarity between the sisters. And cut was perfect for Pippa's body and she looked as amazing as the bride. It's clear Kate wanted to everyone to look as great as she did. okay, done gushing. Loved it.
