Milan Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Prada

The Spring fashion shows continue this week as Milan Fashion Week takes place showcasing some of the biggest names in fashion including Giorgio Armani, Burberry and Prada.

Last night the catwalk was decorated with painted fish whilst the audience sat on wooden islands. The collection was refreshingly straight forward as Miuccia herself decided that fashion had got too complicated. The dresses were airy, light and slightly flesh revealing.

The shoes proved to be a problem for a few of the models (maybe another one for catwalk blunders) which featured ankle straps.

The collection was built up around the bare bones of fashion including bras, bloomers, petticoats and slips and built up using luxurious fabrics which were crumpled and creased.

The show ended with literal gold as five brightly gilded dresses closed the Spring line. They featured ties and draw strings showing the versatility of the designs which are sure to appear on a red carpet or two in the near future.
