Earlier today, the sad news broke that Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor had passed away. The actress was at a medical centre in Los Angeles surrounded by her children when it happened at 1.30am this morning. Her publicist commented, "Though [Taylor] had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be." Taylor's height of fame was between the '60s and '70s when she was married to Richard Burton. The couple originally wed in 1964 for ten years, before getting divorced and then married again in 1975. During the '60s, she won two academy awards for BUtterfield 8 and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Her most famous role was as Cleopatra in 1963.
