BAFTA Awards: Helen Mirren

Wearing a pale grey dress at tonight's 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards, Helen Mirren rocked the red carpet in a bold pink colour — whoa! Her colourist from John Frieda, Jessie Knight said, "To be honest it was totally Helen’s idea. My brief was ‘let’s do something fun’ so out came the crazy colour which is a really easy way to have temporary but instant fun with your colour. We went for a soft pastel pink which worked really well with Helen’s naturally soft skin tone." The 67 year old may be nominated tonight for a leading lady award in Hitchcock but how do you feel about her blushing new beauty look?

The 24th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival drew boldfaced Hollywood names on Saturday night. Stars including Ben Affleck, Naomi Watts, and Bradley Cooper were honored for their onscreen work, while Tom Hanks, Eddie Redmayne, Diane Lane, and other celebs presented the evening's awards. We were on the red carpet and inside for the star-studded dinner, where several of the awardees shared moving, funny, and heartfelt speeches. Naomi, who accepted the evening's Desert Palm Achievement Award for an actress from her The Impossible costar Tom Holland, thanked her longtime partner, Liev Schreiber, for inspiring her. She also expressed gratitude for their two young sons, Sasha and Kai, for "breathing life into me."
Birthday boy Bradley Cooper — who turned 38 yesterday — gave a short and humble speech when accepting the corresponding award for actor for his work in Silver Linings Playbook. It was one of newly single Bradley Cooper's first nights out since splitting from Zoe Saldana. Bradley couldn't escape host Mary Hart, who led the audience in a round of "Happy Birthday" in his honor before he left the stage. As Ben Affleck and his Argo cast closed the show, taking home the ensemble performance award, Ben asked Mary if she'd prompt the crowd to sing "Happy Birthday" for him, as well. "When's your birthday?" Mary asked. Ben replied, "August."
Jessica Biel Brings Hitchcock West With Helen and Toni
Jessica Biel wore Gucci to the LA premiere of Hitchcock last night. She was joined on the red carpet by two of her fellow leading ladies, a Dolce & Gabbana-clad Helen Mirren and Toni Collette, in Alex Perry. Jessica tweeted a photo of herself with Helen and Toni, captioning it, "Lemme tell you about my girl crush on these two. . . Helen and Toni!"
The trio were together for another screening Sunday in NYC with costar Scarlett Johansson, who missed out on the West Coast event. Scarlett was at the Late Show yesterday, having stayed behind in the Big Apple ahead of her 28th birthday tomorrow. Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel Debut Hitchcock in NYC
Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel attended the NYC premiere of their movie, Hitchcock, last night at the Ziegfeld Theatre. They went for very different looks on the red carpet: Scarlett was edgy in a Rodarte mini, while Jessica went for something a bit more mature in an Oscar de la Renta combo, which she paired with Lorraine Schwartz earrings. Whose Hitchcock premiere look do you prefer? Helen Mirren, meanwhile, donned Dolce&Gabbana.
Jessica and Scarlett posed for photos alongside their costars Toni Collette, Helen Mirren, and Danny Huston after doing a long day of press at the junket together. Jessica joked on Twitter about how the ladies all looked at different photographers during the group shots. She wrote, "Our Hitchcock cast! Clearly no one knew where to look and when . . . " Missing from the fun was Anthony Hopkins, who plays the title role. Anthony Hopkins's Hitchcock impression looked quite good from Hitchcock's trailer, and moviegoers can see it for themselves when the picture arrives in theaters this Friday, Nov. 23.

Morgan Freeman said of his AFI honor, "I should be ashamed to say that sooner or later, I knew that someone was going to call on me to play God. I just had to be sure that when I said OK, that it was a comedy."
Watch the Trailer For When Harry Met Sally 2 (With a Twilight Twist!)
We've seen classic romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally remixed as a horror film, but what about a sequel? Billy Crystal took it upon himself to reimagine a follow-up to the story, this time with Harry finding romance again in a nursing home after Sally's death. It seems like love at first sight for Harry and Sharon (Helen Mirren) . . . until Harry realizes that Sharon has a dark secret, and he's bit off more than he can chew (pun intended).

On the red carpet she talked about being nervous when filming atop a huge horse and says she hopes she doesn't disappoint fans when she takes on the role of Miss Marple — check out PopSugar Rush for more from Jennifer! Russell Brand revealed that there may not be truth to his Rock of Ages casting rumors, since he would like to be able to spend more time with wife Katy Perry. She couldn't join Russell for the premiere, though she did tweet her support from Scotland where she performed last night. Similar to his character, Russell told us falling in love made him grow up, but last night it was all about his female costars. He gushed about Helen Mirren, who, along with the rest of her costars including Greta Gerwig also got lots praise from director Jason Winer during Buzz's sit-down interview. Today Jennifer is stopping by Regis and Kelly as well as Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to promote their movie ahead of its Friday release.
