Patrick Dempsey hit the beach shirtless with his wife, Jillian, and their three children, Tallulah, Darby, and Sullivan, in the Caribbean on Tuesday. The tropical vacation may be a celebratory one since Patrick wrapped yet another season with his long-running show Grey's Anatomy. The season nine finale airs tonight on ABC, and the network recently announced more good news, revealing that Grey's will be renewed for a 10th season.

Before Patrick headed off on vacation, he took time to meet with cancer survivors at the Tuesday start of the Amgen Tour of California, which is America's biggest cycling event. Patrick is an ambassador for the tour and for the Breakaway From Cancer charity, which is involved in "supporting the riders and honoring local cancer survivors from tour communities throughout the race."

The family getaway comes after Patrick traveled to Las Vegas last week to participate in the oldest off-road race in North America, the General Tire Mint 400. He and his team won the race and celebrated in their Tully's-sponsored suits, which is fitting since Patrick purchased the coffee company earlier this year. He's juggling his new business acquisition and racing duties with acting, since he's currently in the middle of the ninth season of Grey's Anatomy with the latest episode airing last Thursday.

Patrick's alter ego, Dr. Shepherd, also known as McDreamy, was left injured following a plane crash that took the life of at least one Seattle Grace resident — find out which doctors won't be returning next season on Grey's. After months of speculation, ABC confirmed Patrick will be back for two more seasons, as will costars Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, and Justin Chambers, but fans will have to wait until the Fall to find out who will be joining them in the ER.

Patrick spent the holiday with his loved ones, and recently dined with fellow cycling enthusiasts at the NorCal High School Mountain Bike League's annual Cyclefest fundraising dinner. That wasn't the actor's only cameo appearance this month. Patrick also popped by the LA Auto Show for the unveiling of Mazda's 2013 CX-5. He's a long-time Mazda supporter, having checked out the Mazda Formula 1 vehicle earlier this year during a racing event at Le Mans.

Recently single Joe Manganiello was looking hunky before the show began, and he was able to mingle with some other single stars like Vanessa Hudgens.

Ellen and Patrick are both renegotiating their contracts, though Patrick assured fans they shouldn't be worried about McDreamy's future. One of Patrick's former primetime costars, T.R. Knight, landed a new small-screen role on an upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU.
