All eyes are on London today as it takes on the batton from New York and plays host to five days of Autumn shows. Paul Costelloe kicked everything off at Somerset House this morning with a fun, '60s inspired collection. All of the models had red frizzy bobs for the show which included super short skater skirts, boxy jackets, and ladylike coats. There was focus on texture with jacquard fabrics and a touch of tartan along side bold prints like graphic florals. Big buttons adorned coat sleeves and Peter Pan collars gave looks a contradicting conservative edge. There were a few menswear looks too which were '50s inspired with skinny trousers and tweed blazers.

  • Trends: Ladylike, swing skirts, Winter florals
  • Colours: Red, green, pink, yellow and metallic
  • Key Looks: Red wool box jacket and mini skater skirt
  • Accessories: Chunk patent grey heels
  • Who Would Wear It: Ladies who lunch in style

Do You Ever Re-Create Hair and Makeup Looks From Fashion Week

Here at Fashion Week headquarters, FabSugarUK and I live for this time of the year when we get to watch hairdressers, makeup artists and fashion designers put on fabulous five minute shows that really express their creativity and uniqueness.

Here at Fashion Week headquarters, FabSugarUK and I live for this time of the year when we get to watch hairdressers, makeup artists and fashion designers put on fabulous five minute shows that really express their creativity and uniqueness.

A lot of the time, we're lucky enough to even see firsthand how it all comes together backstage! Without a doubt, each season I walk away with at least one hairstyle or makeup trend that I absolutely love and can't wait to try and re-create at home, and a few others that I totally loathe.

Do you take any of your beauty inspiration from fashion week?

Cat Deeley Talks Briefly About Beauty At Matthew Williamson

Although Cat Deeley's publicist was rushing her backstage to greet designer Matthew Williamson after his 2011 Spring Runway Show, she had a few quick moments to spare for FabSugarUK and I to talk about the clothing, her fabulous bedhead hair, and her makeup look for the night.

Even though our talk was rushed, she was very sweet and really pretty up close. Check out exactly what makeup she was (and wasn't wearing) below!

  • Laura Mercier Secret Concealer
  • No Foundation!
  • Max Factor Lengthening Mascara for super long lashes
  • Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
  • Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss
  • Pantene Root Lifter for beachy, unkempt hair

Trend Alert: 1970s Beauty at London Fashion Week

In case you who hadn't noticed yet, the 1970s is turning in to a trend phenomenon for Spring!

In case you who hadn't noticed yet, the 1970s is turning in to a trend phenomenon for Spring! Not least in beauty. The New York runways were rammed with 1970s influences and it looks like the vibe continued in London. The catwalk atTopshop Unique looked like a tribute to high volume '70s glamour. (Check out this crazy backstage shot below. Cool, right?! I wouldn't want to try combing that one out!)

Next came Julien Macdonald's show, which worked a sultry Sharon Tate theme with winged eye makeup and Valley of the Dolls style hair. Then there was Twenty8Twelve, House of Holland and Basso & Brooke, all of which ran with a distinct '70s looks, with loose languid centre-parted waves and simple makeup. (Twenty8Twelve's was more of a Virgin Suicides feel. Meanwhile House of Holland went for full Boogie Nights pool party glamour.)

Front Row Trend Alert: Pale Highlights and Bedhead Hair

I am still catching up on telling you all about the glitz and the glamour that I spied over the course of London Fashion Week.

I am still catching up on telling you all about the glitz and the glamour that I spied over the course of London Fashion Week. One of the trends I noticed, was that celebrities either had their hair and makeup styled to the nines, or they opted for a sort of undone, unkempt look. Last week at the at Matthew Williamson's Show is a perfect example of the latter.

Blondes such as like Sienna Miller, Cat Deeley and Poppy Delevigne lined the front row, (along with Olivia Palermo, whom I was able to steal a few moments to talk beauty with) donning messy centre parts with ultrapale, face framing highlights. Cat even told me that she was wearing minimal makeup with only balm on her lips, whilst Sienna rocked a red pout as her stand out beauty look. Would you wear bedhead hair to a fashion show?

My Favourite Backstage London Beauty Pics!

Backstage at fashion shows is like a different world.
My Favourite Backstage London Beauty Pics!

Backstage at fashion shows is like a different world. Models are roaming around with hair clips and bobby pins, meanwhile stylists, manicurists and makeup artists work like well-oiled machines to get each model ready for their runway moment. My favourite shots of fashion weeks are usually backstage ones. They're great for getting an insight in to how looks are created, not to mention getting a sense of the buzzy fashion week atmosphere. I rounded up my top shots from London Fashion Week to take a look at (Including this fab one of models sleeping at Topshop Unique). Click through this slideshow to check them out. Enjoy!

Celebs Show Off Their Glam Gowns At Vogue PFW Masked Ball

Vogue held their 90th Anniversary Party at Paris Fashion Week at Hotel Pozzo di Borgo last night, and celebs got their best frocks — and masks — on for the event.

Vogue held their 90th Anniversary Party at Paris Fashion Week at Hotel Pozzo di Borgo last night, and celebs got their best frocks — and masks — on for the event. Tyra Banks made sure she could see with her mask and looked stunning in a black gown as she posed on the steps. Lara Stone channeled Marie Antoinette with her hair and wore a dark green gown, accompanied by a masked David Walliams. Natalia Vodianova showed off her amazing figure in a barely there black lace dress — FabUK wants to know if you'd wear lace on your face — while Dita von Teese accentuated her tiny waist in a black coat and stockings. Other guests at the bash included Gisele Bundchen, Marc Jacobs and Leigh Lezark.

Exclusive! Olivia Palermo Mutters Her Beauty Faves To Me

On Sunday evening, I attended the Matthew Williamson Spring 2011 Fashion Show at Battersea Power Station with my partner in crime, FabSugarUK.

On Sunday evening, I attended the Matthew Williamson Spring 2011 Fashion Show at Battersea Power Station with my partner in crime, FabSugarUK. Besides staring at all of the beautiful clothing and models on the runway, it was mighty hard to keep my eyes off the celebrity filled front row. Sitting pretty in sky high heels and a short black dress was The City star and New York's Upper East Side princess, Olivia Palermo.

At first, Olivia wasn't keen on revealing her beauty secrets, but she slowly warmed up once she realised that I was as much of a beauty junkie as she is! She told me that all of her skincare comes from her Dermatologist, Dr. Dennis Gross and that she never leaves the house without SPF cream on her face.

Baby powder is a staple in her makeup bag, as it keeps her feeling fresh all of the time, and when she needs to go from day to night, she simply layers on a darker shade of eye shadow to dress up her beauty look.

As for her makeup at the show, she confesses to using YSL concealer topped with Vaseline on her lips, a couple layers of Guerlain mascara, black powder eyeliner and a sheer foundation. See some of her tried and true beauty staples below!
